QUOTE(fouzhi @ Sep 30 2014, 04:30 PM) Bro...help me to understand the picture please. Usage time is not clearly laid out by Apple but I believe is the time the device is actively used, and it doesn't really correspond to SOT (screen on time). probably a majority of the usage time is the SOT though. Usage time is included in the standby time from what I've experienced. The usage time is that mean the screen of the device is on? The standby time consist of usage time? |

QUOTE(lazybump_nonsense @ Sep 30 2014, 04:53 PM) Cellular and Wifi never shut off at all. I used to shut it off last time when using my 5S, but this time on iOS 8 with iPhone 6, I never bother to shut off already. perhaps shutting off will make battery life better by a bit though. |

QUOTE(slickz @ Oct 1 2014, 09:43 AM) really unfair to pit iphone 6 with other 5 inch phones. Only the 6+ has the right to be compared with the rest. By the looks of GSMarena testing, it seems that Web Browsing time of the iPhone 6 is way better than Note 3 and iPhone 6 Plus. Does Web Browsing time mean SOT? If it does, it does sound pretty awesome, right? Come compare with other 4.7 inch phones and see how the iphone 6 fares. The Endurance Rating probably refers to All Round Usage + Standby time, though. |

QUOTE(deepan84 @ Oct 1 2014, 10:28 AM) Yes, agreed, a 5" phone with Large capacity battery will be more perfect than the Plus, IMHO too.QUOTE(nickelkadmium @ Oct 1 2014, 10:30 AM) Chill bro. QUOTE(Lynixx @ Oct 1 2014, 10:47 AM) iPhone 6 is still the perfect size for one-handed comfortable use. The Plus can get big and cumbersome most of the time, you can't even put it in your jeans pocket properly. Unless battery life is your main concern (and perhaps bigger screen), I highly recommend going for the 6. |

QUOTE(Connect2USales @ Oct 1 2014, 01:18 PM) this statement makes me wanna get 6 instead of 6 plus. battery won't be a big issue to me since i always have a power bank in my bag all the time, and a spare power bank in my car. I also got a car charger too... but what about the camera? low light, OIS and photo quality? Can comment? thanks in advance ya The gyro-based OIS seems to help a lot in low-light by allowing the camera to set a lower-ISO which results in the images having less noise (if you have shaky hands). Photo quality outdoors / bright lights should be about the same. But anyhow, pretty negligible differences, but if you snap photos a LOT day and night, yes it is a point worth noting of course. QUOTE(xproc @ Oct 1 2014, 05:44 PM) ya .... after reading reviews these few days seem iphone 6 is better phone Had various doubts when looking at YouTube videos and photos online of the 6 Plus. But after holding the actual one in hand, it's not 'that' bad as what everyone thinks (especially one tech website editor who changed back to a 6 from 6 Plus the following day because he couldn't stand the size. lol) iphone 6+ is a phablet.... need to hold it in my hand to test it any iphone 6+ user regretting now? But one thing, I have to agree that the size is indeed an inconvenience. As the iPhone 6's battery life has been improved considerably over the 5S, it is really a worthy option to consider OVER the 6 Plus. |

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Oct 1 2014, 06:44 PM) To be honest, I rather feel that my Iphone 6 is slightly laggy when opening and closing apps and its not as smooth as some android systems especially the better ones like Cyanogen Mod. Coming from the CM11s, I feel that Android has developed well and the performance is on par with IOS. Maybe Apple needs to put in maybe 2GB of ram to make the running of the IOS system a bit tad smoother. I dont feel the advantages of smoothness in UI unlike when we had the Iphone 4 and 4s and even 5 and 5s over android at that time. Maybe its just me or is Android well developed nowadays to give IOS a run for their money. I had a HTC One M8 before (just sold yesterday), it's WAY faster than both my i6 and i6 Plus in terms of changing between apps, etc. But somehow, I enjoy using iOS more. |

QUOTE(silencer5089 @ Oct 1 2014, 06:48 PM) Those who happen to travel to Taiwan (taipei specificly) strongly suggest them to visit mos coat and get your phone wrapped. If you are an OCD person like me you will appreaciate it. Why? Anyone who visit them and mention that i recommend you guys go can get 15% discount off your total bill Bro if you go there first, please do share some photos of your i6 / i6 Plus getting done with it! QUOTE(Reventon @ Oct 1 2014, 06:50 PM) King of the hill for 4"7 still sony Z3c . Whopping 101hours ER on gsmarena. Strange the endurance rating for 6+ like not really good. The differentiator is the screen. Z3 doesn't perform anywhere close to Z3C as well. i6 Plus endurance rating seems a bit better than Note 3 which has larger capacity battery, so it should be pretty acceptable. |

QUOTE(DuDe5593 @ Oct 1 2014, 07:00 PM) Exactly, Android is well developed these days for their memory optimization, JellyBean was the biggest change in Android build. Yup. Agreed! All that matters is the experience that user requires and what they prefer. QUOTE(silencer5089 @ Oct 1 2014, 07:09 PM) Wow. Every single surface also is skinned. |

Any of you iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus users who upgraded from an iPhone 5S - notice that the Parallax Effect (moving background on the home screen) is MUCH MUCH improved and responsive compared to the 5S?
Well, I personally notice it. And it's probably due to a Dual-Gyro system. Read more here: http://bgr.com/2014/09/28/iphone-6-and-6-plus-battery-life/ The publication said in its initial teardown that it discovered not one, but two accelerometers inside the iPhone 6, one from InvenSense and one for Bosch, without being able to explain why Apple made this particular choice. A few days later, the publication said it solved the mystery, revealing that battery life concerns led Apple to include the extra chip in the iPhone 6. InvenSense’s chip is a six-axis accelerometer that’s good for gaming and “other applications that need sophisticated inertial sensing capabilities,” but there’s a downside to that, and that’s increased battery consumption while it’s in use. Bosch’s three-axis accelerometer operates at a significantly lower power (130 µA in normal mode vs up to 3.4 mA for InvenSense’s), and features a faster start-up time, meaning that the chip will handle most accelerometer-related actions where “full six-axis integration is not required and where lower sensitivity is acceptable.” “The integration of two accelerometers into the iPhone 6 is another example of Apple’s elegant engineering,” the publication said. “The phone would have worked with just the InvenSense device, but since not all applications require the higher sensitivity and full six-axis integration, Apple added the Bosch device, which allows them to lower the power consumption while still providing a good user experience.” |

Didn't have really good battery life the past few days on my iPhone 6 Plus.
But after restarting my iPhone last night, the battery performance seems to have improved. Although my usage is considered not heavy for today, it seems pretty acceptable for me. These are the stats after taking my iPhone off the charger in the morning today. ![]() This post has been edited by shockk: Oct 2 2014, 05:42 PM |
