QUOTE(arubin @ Sep 29 2014, 12:35 PM) If you haven't heard this song before, you likely have been living in a cave all along because its like the most famous classical piece to the point that I am actually sick of it. Why sick of it?? Try following how the basses are in sync with the strings and winds. Damn gooding man.Hope you get what I mean... QUOTE(arubin @ Sep 29 2014, 12:52 PM) Took piano lessons for about 8 years when I was a kid. Never really got good at it, but part of the lessons also involves studying musical theory (there is a test for it) and I figured that since I have to learn about Mozard, Beethoven, Bach, etc. than I might as well start listening to their music too so that I actually recognize their music instead of merely committing them to memory for the exam. Wahh... 8 years of learning can be very gooding liao lo. I self-learn also can play a few songs already. But need to practice like crazy lo. |

Georges Bizet's L'Arlesienne Suite No. 2 Farandole. A lively piece, you will dance to it. This is an example of a dance and march themes played together in a piece. If you note, there are two distinct movements, starting with one march theme in minor, and then a dance theme in major. Listen carefully, and you will be mesmerised. QUOTE(harizdesu @ Sep 29 2014, 02:08 PM) QUOTE(call me random @ Sep 29 2014, 02:31 PM) Piano is a good instrument to start with. But piano lessons aren't cheap nowadays. I am learning with a keyboard now. It will be much more easier if you have some basic in music, like reading the treble and bass clef. |
