QUOTE(arul94 @ Sep 27 2014, 04:40 AM) Why would you follow majority ? Are you really following islam or youre following the people (muslims in this case ) ? Alot of muslim in other parts of the world didn't freakout looking tattoos on us does not mean its halal to have tattoos . Haraam is still haraam . Hukum was not created by our grandmother that was claimed old fashioned way of thinking or whatsoever , its His command . And dont be generalize bro . Not all muslims go to club , drink alcohol etc. There's some but not all . They who did those things does not practicing the correct way of islam . Islam didnt teach us to do all those things . This is my opinion . I have lots of muslims friends with tattoos , no i didnt freakout . Its just wrong to do so as a muslim . I think TS already quite clear about his stance on religion. Yup, it's wrong in the eyes of religion. I think this is already quite clear from the beginning.

Just to note, tattoos are generalized as pagan/gang related stuff in most urban society. Also seen as a delinquent.

you dont need "muh islam, muh malays" to get stares from society ANYwhere. tattoo has been associated everywhere with rowdiness, rebels, thugs, and everything criminal and violence. youll be seen as a failure and a disgrace to the society. forget about any professional career if you had one on exposed skins.
btw, the negative effect of tattoo is amplified thousand fold when you have shitty ones, which are most of the "designs" out there in your generic parlor.

I don't see people with tattoo are sinful and deserve to go to hell.. That is between him and God... I pity them.. They have millions of things to do/buy but they choose tats.. Same with iFags

QUOTE(99problems @ Sep 27 2014, 03:30 AM) In general, people will judge them like "he's evil, Islam dont allow tattoos" and some bs like that lol, like its taboo. Im a Malay myself and I'd like to have a few later on, and I'd just like to hear your opinion. How about in career? Do people w tattoos get discriminated (job interviews, etc)? Or any Muslim by name/practising Muslim here that has tattoos and get shunned by society? Or got weird looks? Maybe some Imam tried to preach? Or if family outcast them because of it? Reason why I said Malays because Malays are usually Muslim. Thanks tatto sux!!!!!!!!! hepatitis..... tak ada kena mengena dgn religion pun.... if ada tatoo sudah tak boleh derma darah wooooo

QUOTE(99problems @ Sep 27 2014, 03:47 AM) Muslims now are pretty open. European Muslims mostly, but in Singapore Malays have tattoos too and they don't get weird looks over there. Here people will freak out. One thing funny about Muslims over here is they can drink, go clubbing, have pre-marital sex, but tattoos, keeping dogs and eating pork are no-no. Weird Welcum to Bolehland!

QUOTE(Intimidated @ Sep 27 2014, 03:39 AM) Warning: potential race-flame-baiting-thread But let's try to do this rationally shall we? Tattoo is still a taboo to most professional jobs. I have a friend who got to the final stage of interview, for a world class symphonic show, but was not picked because of her tattoo. Sure, you can cry foul all day and blame oldfarts for being narrow minded, etc. But it's not going to help your cause? Yes, professionals still discriminate against inked people. If you want to get a tattoo, please understand and accept the repercussions. And don't do it in such an obvious place like your neck or forearm, unless you're the #YOLO or #TATTOO4LYFE type. weird I know many Chefs who has tattoos and they are quite nice outside kitchen one of them has a neck piercing, at the back of neck. most of their tattoos are on the upper arm though.

Most professional jobs, not all. Just because you know one job that few gives a fvck about your tattoos or piercings, doesn't meant it should be the gold standard of hiring. I doubt customers at restaurants ever thought about how many piercings or how large a tattoo the chef has, or if the chef forgot to wash his hands after a trip to the loo. As long as I don't see it happening, I don't think about it happening.
