Warning: potential race-flame-baiting-thread

But let's try to do this rationally shall we?

Tattoo is still a taboo to most professional jobs. I have a friend who got to the final stage of interview, for a world class symphonic show, but was not picked because of her tattoo.

Sure, you can cry foul all day and blame oldfarts for being narrow minded, etc. But it's not going to help your cause? Yes, professionals still discriminate against inked people. If you want to get a tattoo, please understand and accept the repercussions. And don't do it in such an obvious place like your neck or forearm, unless you're the #YOLO or #TATTOO4LYFE type.

Most professional jobs, not all. Just because you know one job that few gives a fvck about your tattoos or piercings, doesn't meant it should be the gold standard of hiring.

I doubt customers at restaurants ever thought about how many piercings or how large a tattoo the chef has, or if the chef forgot to wash his hands after a trip to the loo. As long as I don't see it happening, I don't think about it happening.
