er, actually i'm using a sony HU, a low budget 1. but from what i heard, people always complain that sony hu will wear out in about a year or two.
and yes true enough mine is almost there.

Everytime, i turn off my car, start again. there will be a DJ in the HU scratching my cd. From Sarah Mclachlan song become some really..hardcore hip-hop. I have to eject and insert the cd so that it returns to normal state again. Now, it is very sensitive towards CD-Rs....

gonna get a pioneer 6850 soon. Anyway, I was told that Pioneer is good for starters like me. It is user-friendly, and has a more balanced output than Sony and Kenwood. The salesman who likes to tell me about ICE also said that if budget below 1k for HU, Pioneer should be the choice. Sadly, he only compare with Kenwood and Sony. So, I don't know bout Eclipse.

EDIT: try not to get sony stuff. Maybe it's just me because i HATE SONY ICE.

get a pioneer IMHO, i think for <RM500, maybe u can go to zerotohundred.com and find a 3850
