do i need an amp?

btw my budget is quite tight, so u know~

im using ipod,
but its not a problem for not having an AUX output coz i'll use the car-kit...
and cant play mp3 cd's is also not a big problem since i hv ipod~

i dont need a super duper ICE, just a basic...
and SQ is clear and dont have those pecah2 sound...

This can use for rear speaker setup.

do i need an amp?
NO, unless intend to install a sub-woofer. YES, if you wanna have more SQ.

do i need a subwoofer?
YES, as for you wide range taste of music. To me without sub-woofer is not an enjoyment. tongue.gif

do i need crossover?
YES. If u install the item above, so the system can have more clearity, more SQ. You'll feel the different.

Ok, since budget not allow well, keep on saving.

What I can think of now is try to spend abit more on HU as driftmeister recomended. Then run everything from HU.
Keep saving for amp and sub-woofer.
after sub-woofer, active crossover, if the speaker still working find, if feel wanna change it component speaker then active crossover.
Estimate can get everything on averange ICE within RM2000.

Do survey before buy, dont get it then only ask how to recover, usualy the solution is "throw away get a new 1." tongue.gif

Err..just some step on what to get in my POV.
After get your HU, will be amp, woofer, active crossover or component set speakers.

Pioneer or Sony, I myself a pioneer supporter. Just FYI, Pioneer is currently doing promotion. I remember for the same range of HU, Pioneer more suitable for RnB, Techno type of music, according to my hearing.

Ah, just recall something.

Since getting a used car, some of them come with a HU. Well, don't expect a decent HU, but a normal range mostly like below RM300. So, might able to save on HU.

all in 1 amp. With crossover built-in? Where can get those infor online?

Eventualy, for this kind of sad cases, I would say depend on the breaker. They take any brand of HU as long as they think there's demand. My house area used to happen few time. All just normal HU, and most car are not into ICE. Just park car at safe place. Or for undetachable HU, can design a leather cover just to hide it.

mattchin, for the cover can be anytype, is just a DIY cover. Diff car diff method. Some people even disable the HU key hole, but come to trouble shooting will be very troublesome.
