My dad have been rearing these blue crayfish for > 10 yrs.
We have been selling the 1" to 2" babies to a LFS so cheap until we stopped selling them.
Now the males and females are kept apart to prevent breeding coz it is sad to see the babies kill each other..no space and not worth selling to LFS.

hi, i started with prawning udang galahs, and recently i've wierdly developed some interests to breeding crayfish lol....come to think of it its like i wonder if udang galah and crayfish can be put together.

Also, how do you breed the crayfish?
any specific conditions for them to breed?

Most aquarium shops would have but Crayfish are not popular due to their predatory nature and the fact that they munch up aquatic plants...

Used to keep a pair and love seeing them molt... sadly one day it got too hot and they died cry.gif

I had a zebra but it died of sickness... loss of appetite and it slowly died... then 3 australian red claws died from killing off all my fish in the aquarium and suffocating themselves in polluted water.... it happened over night coz my filter and pump died a day before and I couldn't get a new replacement fast... sigh....

I wanna get Purple exotic and orange ones... gonna cost RM30 over each.

In Pudu market.... 3 medium size crayfish only RM10 ehheeh... large ones RM5 or RM8 each... The RM10 for 3 is the same one as 006, same size too.

in pudu market? which part of pudu? cause it is kinda hard to find aquarium that sell crayfish. or they are all same species (red claw).

cray fish dont need go to surface to glup air...
they need hiding place... especially after molting...
make sure water is clean...
make sure it has sufficient food...

they are hardy creature... they can be out of water for long period of time...

yes the crayfish dont need to go to the surface to gulp air. but only when you got an airstone in the aquarium.
but if you dont have airstone, please make sure set up your aquarium likely for the tortoise setup. but i really prefer an airstone.

for my recommendation, not only airstone, if you set up a water filter, it will be nicer and make your job easy for the water changing process. and ill bet your cray will be happy. just set the tank like a fish tank.

the hiding place is like their shelter (after moulting or when they're scared) but if u guys dont mix them with fishes, it will be okay.
