now that I think of it, because my RF is silent,
I wanted to be as quiet as possible when typing,
it's the noise of the spacebar that is annoying me,

and Novatouch is not silent ......

what is the point of getting a whole non silent keyboard with a silent spacebar???

Maybe wait till CM come up with a silent design like you suggested

Have you tried it with O-rings that come with the package?
if it works, even I had my End game with the previous RF,
it might just be the "game changer" that make me come out of my mountain.

The spacebar is not silent, it sounds like normal alphabetic Topre sound too.

I see your point. Some like Topre loud and clear, and some like it silence.

Edit: Yup. I tried the o-rings come with package. It will reduce the typing sound.
You may internal mod the slider with thin bumper too to reduce typing sound.
Indeed both method will greatly reduce the typing sound, but it does reduce the activation distant too.

It's using rubber coating surface finish on the top case.

ah, too bad. this is the kind of finish i'm wary about. it's nice to the touch but starts peeling and gets all sticky after a couple of years of use.

The rubber coating attracts dust, grease and wear off due to usage.

The coating serves no real purpose. Just let it peeling off after long time of using. No big deal.

don't simply use those dental bands because some of them had higher thickness which is not recommended.
As you know adding dental bands will reduce the actuation distance; original actuation distance ~4mm.

If the actuation distance is short, the typing feel is not pleasurable
Get thinnest bands you can find if possible.
