Don't watch every game la bro. It might just work. We can test it out for the league cup match and the Merseyside derby this weekend. English Clubs Liverpool Kop Talk 2014, Newcastle-1, Liverpool-0

Plenty of deceptive depth in the squad. Deceptive because while the squad is big, the quality isn't really there
Another worrying part is how the team needs certain players to play in order to get positive results. No Sturridge, so difficult to win games. |

Few positives but much to be concerned about regarding the team's performances so far.
Moreno and Manquillo have settled in quickly enough. Still, there's plenty of room for improvement on their defensive side of their games. Gerrard, Hendo and Coutinho are nowhere near their best if we compare to last season. They need to buck up fast. Mignolet hasn't convinced me at all this season. He's not commanding his defence during set pieces or when a cross comes in. And the way he parries long shots away (in front instead of to the side) is a cause for concern. Sturridge and Sterling are the only real bright sparks so far but the team's over-reliance on them is not good. Bringing in so many players but still toothless when either of them don't play shows the squad is just big but still lacking the quality required. The results have been far from satisfactory. BR needs to find a formation and a playing style that's more balanced and he needs to do it quickly. Start with organizing the defence better. I don't think the team can replicate last season because Suarez is not around anymore. Suarez is just a one-of-a-kind player that can bring the team lots of goals. Can't have that "You score X goals, we score X+1 goals" mentality anymore with the players that the team has now. |

I agree with yeelong Get a draw away in Switzerland is a satisfactory result based on current form. But then again, that puts pressure on the return match at Anfield and also the away game at Ludogrets. Basically must-win games (hard to be optimistic for the matches against Real based on their form. Only expecting 1 point or at best 3 points against them).

QUOTE(kevafk @ Oct 2 2014, 05:08 PM) We have now total of 4 players trying to prove his price tag. Balo, Lallana, sterling and Lovren.. Wait what?? How much did he cost LFC? It's always heavy wear a red shirt, fans demanding all sorts of things. This is not the worst squad. Remember Voronin? Konchesky? Paulsen? Nunez? Kvarme? Bjornbye? Banyak lagi man Basically it's too early to promote Markovic, macam lembik lol.. Pass also no strength. Where else some trying too hard |

Bring in the best defenders in the world also no use if BR is gonna overload on attack and then get punished on counters because the covering job is too slow

QUOTE(AnythingK @ Oct 3 2014, 04:34 PM) Markovic confirm in the list, Lala is improving each match, err so he's in between. Still too early to judge the full backs but I'd say that they have been an encouragement. They can be better but at least they have been more good than bad. In any case, the whole defence needs to be a whole lot better anyway; and that includes the goalkeeper and the midfielder that's supposed to be shielding them. Oh and both our full backs definitely in hit list. Hopefully Lallana continues to improve. I'm more concerned about Coutinho's form though. And also what BR is going to do to fix the problem upfront as well. |

Just wait for Sturridge to come back to full fitness and see how he plays with Balo. Balo is not the mobile kind of striker like Suarez that can drift out wide and take a few defenders with him and frees up other players. Sturridge might do that kind of job when he comes back. We'll see.

QUOTE(melt @ Oct 16 2014, 12:17 PM) Its a bit too late dont you think +1 I observed the same things too. Although some of his heavy touches probably due to the bumpy pitch. Check back the previous page. There is the highlight for Coutinho performance against Japan. You will be able to see heavy touch, poor shooting (as usual) and etc |

All the Gods must have been smiling at LFC last night. What kind of luck the team had. Played so poorly, opposition managed to hit the woodwork twice, 2 of the team's 3 goals were own goals. WTF seriously
Balo was shitty. No point saying otherwise. His attitude on the pitch hasn't changed at all. Very disappointed with him. This post has been edited by 8sg9ft: Oct 20 2014, 10:25 AM |

QUOTE(carloz28 @ Oct 20 2014, 10:36 AM) I dunno why ppl blame Balo man...to me, he is playing his game exactly the style he is renowned for. He is never a creator runner like Suarez type (Suarez is the one and only) nor he is a flanker who drops deep to collect the ball and drifts to the flanks. I'm not blaming Balo. I'm just disappointed that he seemed lazy on the pitch, being sulky when things don't go his way. I also realize that the team performance was crappy anyway and he didn't get the service he needed. But when he did get the chance, he did nothing much. I'm not expecting him to be a Suarez, but I know he's capable of a lot more than what he showed last night. And yes, BR has to know how to play to his strengths. Right now, the team is absolutely clueless on how to operate with Balo alone upfront. His style is somewhat similar to Torres right now, this guy holds the ball but needs the god damn service and defence splitting passes from the midfield to strut his stuff, which we failed to do so epicly. God damn scouts and BR himself should know what to expect before they brought him in man....BR is not playing to his players' strength, he is more obsessed with his stupid tiki taka diamond formation which doesn't work at all than gauging his players ability. It's the same for the past 3 seasons...only this time he got no Suarez's brilliance to shadow his incompetency. The defence? 3 yrs has gone and multiple faces come in and out. Same old stuff. Clueless. |

QUOTE(champu @ Oct 23 2014, 12:21 PM) Judging by the dubious decisions BR has made since early of the season, I'd say either he buck up or get shipped out. Ancelotti when compared to Br, was a class above the rest. You sure wanna get another Swansea manager? Wait people gonna rage in here...Garry Monk for the hot seat anyone? |
