just do it in jpj. you will need:

- yourself (current owner) and your malaysian ic
- buyer (future owner) and his malaysian ic
- puspakom cert
- car garant (real copy)
- insurance policy (if were to renew roadtax)

signature is just a procedure, not a form of validation. oh you and future owner need to bring your thumbs too.

better go early in the morning to acquire que number. you may need to wait for half a day for their superior systems and working speed.

The car you can actually book Puspakom under representative instead of your in law (refer pic below), but the owner has to fill up the form and book online la - unless you tell your in law you book it yourself (by registering one Puspakom account urself instead of in law's), but the owner info in step 2 puspakom there has to be correct in law's details. Then on the day of Puspakom inspection, you as representative drive to the Puspakom place there, remember to bring your IC and car grant (super important!!!)

After pass puspakom, then must head over to JPJ to process transfer of ownership within 3 months... <-- for this one I'm not sure whether your in law must physically come or not

after Puspakom; get your in-law to register for myDigitalID online, then login to JPJ using myDigitalID which you will have Advance functions to permit vehicle ownership transfer online. then you also get myDigitalID and log in to JPJ as well to accept the ownership transfer online and make JPJ payment

sometimes, it's not the $$, but the convenience... youngsters don't understand the difficulties old/ temporary disabled folks have to endure..
oldies like me, within means rather spend the little $..
