Sorry for opening a thread like this but I really need to know this right now. I have an Asus O!Play mini media player, will a 3TB Seagate external 3.5" drive will useable with it? I've only tried 2TB so far. I've found conflicting reports online about 3TB so figured I would ask it here as I'm on my way to get one now.
The only issues I've found with the Asus player is that it doesn't work very well with the more recent WD drives. Sometimes it just cannot detect it, even if its just 2TB. That's why I'm getting a Seagate.

Also, you should make you 3 TB drive with two partition, each less then 2 TB... This is a Windows restriction Hope this helps

Correct, Linux, but when you format the harddisk, you probably use a windows base machine Also, you should always format your harddisk using NTFS file format, right?

Yeah NTFS definitely. So if I partition it into two the player won't have any issues with it?

If that does not work, try partition it into 3 partitions, each no bigger then 1TB, I remember the minis has some limitations, although what I cannot remember...
