I think yea caffeine does mingle with your mind, so that your body will "think" it has more energy.. But i guess in long tern, its not good. |

Take milk or tuna before working out.
Then 5 mins before workouts, take coffee. Warm-hot. I've tried that after reading that article, hehehe, it worked. |

the caffiene stimulates your metabolism aswell as your cns, it makes you feel more energetic but its not actually giving you extra energy.
also there have been medical reports showing coffee to have a detrimental effect on bones. |

Coffee for "supplementation" preworkout is good, as most of the energy boosters sold by bodybuilding supplement companies have caffeine as their main component BUT if you're taking exclusively coffee and no carbs, no protein, no fat, you're asking for trouble.

Well, sometimes I take coffee to motivate myself to workout when I'm sleepy or down. Cannot deny the "kick" it gives. About extra energy, definitely NO.
You want energy?. Get some chocolate. But dont indulge too much or you will get fat from it OT: Is taking protein better before or after workout? I usually take carbs before workout and protein (eggs./ tuna) after workout. This post has been edited by ShenWoo: Sep 2 2006, 09:57 PM |

But, I probably I'll nag at them. Light doesn't mean good.. It is worse than normal Coke. Heck, both are bad for health. What's worst, 1.5L a day Prepare for kidney failure... diet coke... if it doesnt taste as good than normal coke and isnt any healthier than normal coke, doesnt that make it inferior to normal coke?
why drink inferior coke when normal coke is just as bad for you and tastes better. |

One of the reason I prefer the Coke Light is because it taste stronger than the regular Coke. It produce a lots of bubble when you pour them into a glass too.why drink inferior coke when normal coke is just as bad for you and tastes better. |

No diarrhea. The caffeine in the Coke really helps to increase my alertness when i was doing my final year project
I have been jogging for years, i didn't notice any caffeine boost effect, but i do aware that with enough food and sleep, your body can perform to the maximum. kenyi, sorry ya, didn't mean to turn this thread into Coke Light thread, just that i think coffee and coke has caffeine, so i guess no problem if we disscuss them together. |

Coke (diet or normal or whatever crappy classification they give) has caffeine AND sugar (empty calories). Coffee, caffeine and no sugar. Lesser of 2 evils. Just cos you've been jogging for years and taking Coke (diet or whatever) for years too doesn't mean nothing is happening to your body. Most people find out the effects much later in their years. I personally know people who have been jogging for years, slim but with crappy diets (excessive sugar, cholestrol, etc) who suddenly collapse of cardiac failure. Then the autopsy reveals clogged arteries, etc. Justify it however you like, evidence > individual opinion. |

Someone mention about being lactose intolarant. Drink HL milk, it helps for real.
If we are still talking about coke, I guess the acid will eventually reveal itself in your stomach, bones and maybe teeth. On coffee, its bad for your teeth (mine is slightly yellow as I drank alot when i found it delightness in my teens) |
