QUOTE(tsutsugami86 @ Dec 9 2020, 02:54 PM)
Annual service fee RM5.00 (in the event the gold balance in the eGIA falls below 5 grams as at 31 December), is it mean no annual service fee if i have 6 grams of gold in e-gia ?

I think not. That's why Maybank more expensive to invest.

QUOTE(Iceman74 @ Dec 9 2020, 03:19 PM)
Does it fully backed by physical gold deposited like maybank?

Since gold/silver are not insured by PIDM as per BN guideline, any assurance better than none.

You shall look for those lowest spread in btw sell n buy rate. If not mistaken UOB then CIMB. I chose CIMB because can do it thru CIMBclicks saving account. UOB not convinced for me to open account.

QUOTE(ipunk1026 @ Dec 10 2020, 09:22 PM)

Yes and don't get the rate info after cimb business hours. Not correct. Check the rate during Banking hours. Their rate is better than Maybank for sure.

QUOTE(GrumpyNooby @ Dec 10 2020, 10:10 PM)
UOB min gram per transaction is 5g right?
CIMB is 1g also possible right?

Bank BUY SELL Spread Min g
UOB 242.60 238.50 4.10 5g
MBB 245.23 235.79 9.44 1g
CIMB (Clicks) 246.90 232.30 14.60 1g

Dont do offline if possible unless you sure the gold price will have big surge within next few months. Ya look for lowest spread for cheapest cost but it is only one of the factor for you to select where to invest.

QUOTE(SgtScoop @ Dec 11 2020, 10:53 AM)
The CS guy said that it's a restricted stock that I have to call the dealer to place the order offline. Offline rates apply. I guess offline rates are much higher than online. What's the cheapest way to invest in gold? (Lowest spread etc?)

QUOTE(GrumpyNooby @ Dec 11 2020, 11:00 AM)
As per morning price, it looks like UOB has the lowest spread:

Bank BUY SELL Spread
UOB 242.00 237.90 4.10
MBB 245.23 235.79 9.44
CIMB (Clicks) 241.50 235.90 5.60

As of time of posting, HG has a spread of close to RM 14/gramme.  blink.gif

Go make police report if he point knife/gun to you to force you. If not, just simple decline. Look at the management team of the link, all under Singapore. Any gold sell other than Bank or those Gold shops may be scam.

QUOTE(raymancantona @ Jan 13 2021, 12:36 PM)
Would like to ask gold sifus here some stupid questions, sorry if you're annoyed

got pushed by friend of a friend to buy gold from him

modus operandi = pay RM 50 lock down price, then pay installment , after finish then get the gold

here is his "company"

https://threeboxgold.com/

https://www.facebook.com/threeboxgold/

the thing looks like a scam, but i can't prove it since i don't know anything about gold

You shall never compare Physical gold bar price with paper gold bar price. They always higher than paper gold. Don't worry so much of it. The most important thing to remember here is to get physical gold in 916/22k or 999/24k gold ONLY.

QUOTE(BladeRider @ Nov 27 2023, 12:02 PM)
I brought 1g bar from poh kong, at lazada during flash sales.
RM 367 for 1g. Is it a good deal? I understand that physical gold is more expensive than paper gold, because the labour fees etc.
So if current gold price is 300/g, I buy physical gold 367/g, consider good price?

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Feb 11 2025, 09:59 AM)
$2935 now, futures 2955.

a bit too fast! biggrin.gif

with the trade war heating up, this gold rush may be saying global inflation is going to super accelerate.

RM likely to weaken as well.

so, double whammy.  dry.gif
