I brought 1g bar from poh kong, at lazada during flash sales.
RM 367 for 1g. Is it a good deal? I understand that physical gold is more expensive than paper gold, because the labour fees etc. So if current gold price is 300/g, I buy physical gold 367/g, consider good price? |

QUOTE(poweredbydiscuz @ Nov 27 2023, 12:41 PM) Haha. My first physical gold. Impulse buying when see the FlashExtra tag blinking at lazada. Keep it as a reminder not to do it again. Any idea how many % different usually buying and selling gold price in shop? For example If I buy it 367, I sell it back to the shop same day, how much will I get roughly? My guess around 260-270? |

QUOTE(xander2k8 @ Nov 27 2023, 01:53 PM) Very big chopped 🤦♀️ I see. Just out of curiosity, usually where and what type of gold people buying for investment? At least 15 to 20% above the actual market traded price 🤦♀️ but I don’t expect them to disclose the actual margin as that’s their rice bowl If you sell expect to lose double around 30 to 40% above the market traded price 🤦♀️ which is why ppl rather pawn their gold for quick money rather liquidated it in the jewellery shop This is the first time I actually purchased one. Usually I buy paper gold with Miga-i, maybank. Don't think I will buy physical gold bar again. |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jul 19 2024, 09:45 AM) if u accumulate say 2kg now, u can be quite rich when u live yr final few years with 1g (RM360 today's money) a day! if 1g a month, after 20 years only 240g.no worries at all about inflation. if yr spread is low enuf, can trade. just be careful not to overtrade. gold is generally for long term holding as wealth protection, not for small players to trade for quick gains. if u dun need to sell, keep it for long term. after 10, 20, 30 yrs, come back n tell us. If want accumulate 2kg as you suggested, one month need to by 8g+. If I can afford to spend RM3k to buy gold monthly, I think now I already not so worry about inflation. haha |

QUOTE(Iceman74 @ Jul 19 2024, 11:51 AM) U guys buy gold for 1 reason.... profit, correct? Probably hold until I retire. And use that to cover part of my daily expenseWhen u guys going to realise those profit? U guys don't have the urge to sell at high and wait for it to go down even you guys know it will goes down eventually to more reasonable price? Property I know how to re optimize the return if required Share market also and in some way, crypto currency too But for gold, the other option is silver only but it very similar movement. So guys , u hold until give to grandchildren? at this point my gold holding are insignificant comparing to others i just don't see any way to increase it if i can't find a way or target to exit or re optimized |

QUOTE(TOS @ Jul 19 2024, 01:34 PM) Maybe I should hold some gold as well The maybank i-miga can withdraw actual physical gold form bank, min 1g bar, if after buying e-gold, suddenly change of mind, want keep physical gold.https://www.reuters.com/markets/wealth/gold...old-2024-07-18/ Physically-replicated gold ETFs like IAUM, GLDM, IAU and GLD hold gold physically in vaults but their ownerships change all the time with the ETF shares changing hands among owners. If "e-gold" by banks don't have any physical gold behind them better don't touch haha |

QUOTE(TOS @ Jul 19 2024, 05:05 PM) Are the charges ok? I thought buying gold via banks always kena katuk by the bank. Their charges are never gonna be cheap. If self collection about 1g = RM25 fees, 10g = RM 63.Still leaning towards gold ETF lol If delivery, need to pay for courier fees la. The buying and selling price everyday up and down one. Either you ketuk by bank or ketuk by physical shop, you choose. haha https://www.maybank2u.com.my/iwov-resources.../miga-i_faq.pdf |

QUOTE(Michaelbyz23 @ Jan 16 2025, 04:14 PM) Hi guys, I am new here, want to explore about Gold. Is the limited design? When you resell, design worth nothing extraMy local dealer said they are selling PAMP gold bar 10g for RM4600, isit expensive? Didnt know it is now RM460+ per g already. What about resale back? Anyone can give a quick tutorial on how this works. Local goldsmith also mentioned local gold is slightly cheaper. 999 vs 9999 |
