Gold at > RM$500/gram, I hear Elsa is belting "Let it go, Let it go".

Is she implying let the price soar or sell?

If you're in the gold train I'm on.
You will know that fiat is gone.
You can hear the alarm going on n on.

Not a Versace on my back, not a FD to my name.
But some of pamps in the game.
Truly, owning gold is for the old n lame.

It is with great sadness that we reached the gold price acceleration phase??? Surely not, after such short years of accumulation.

Any missed buying opportunity is likely met with higher n higher price, leading to FOMO n final capitulation.

Late buyers, beware!

The technical cycles, innovation liquidity and macroeconomic uncertainties blend together suggesting a short term projection gold price MYR$1500/gram.

Stranger than fiction?

Dear Diary,

Malaysia private gold ownership, 900 tons gold (900,000,000 grams)
Mean 26-30 grams
Gini CoE 0.41, proxy SD +/-50 grams

99.75% population owns approx 180 grams gold.
While Gini CoE suggests, the top holders could be 5-10x, max 1.8 kg gold. Another beyond puts those gold bugs as population outliers.
While the price appreciates, the most important factor with all investments alike = Escape Treshold (ET)

Speculating, a future price rm$1500/ grams, everyone has diff std of living.

All those really relying on gold stack to retire, Gold ET need more than xx kg, and new financial tool to enable rwa tokenization & gold staking earning dividends. Can also apply to other commodities n finite supply iso2022, mica/ treasuries coins.

Soon, our generation will be entering a strange new world.

was on a gold selling spree this month. Dug out some gold trinkets, bars and jewellery etc. from 25 years ago, gifts from relatives. Back then was just RM50/g, so we got back 10x their worth today. Sold enough to fund 2 family trips to europe whistling.gif

Pro-tip: never ever sell gold jewellery back to jewellers as they take 30% off the current gold rate. The bullion traders will take your jewellery for higher. But for bars, the jewellers only take around 13% off, comparable to bullion traders.

Genuine question.
Why did you sell off the golden goose that keeps laying gains?

Gold.
Which is more important.

Time in market.
Size.
Type of investment.
All the above.
None of the above.

life isn't all only about gaining money, sometimes you need to spend a bit on luxuries and experiences. Since gold price is so high now, it is quite appealing to exchange for holiday trips with family, if not now then when?  smile.gif

Hmm, thanks for response. Just curious why not dividends from ASNB, FD, ETFs, etc. which is more/less fixed dividends.

Wanted to understand if you think gold has topped. No worries.

Yesterday, something ignited a sense of Deja Vu as precious as gold over decades.

A corner house turned restaurant serving, in my humble opinion, the best chicken pie in Penang: Yaw's @ Midlands. While chatting with the boss, I learned he's the second generation owner of the old Pulau Tikus Top Top restaurant:stirring up memories from some 50-55 years ago.

Hmm, what's the forum ground rules? As long as 'gold' mentioned, can post, right?

Hi all, how does the gold perform during liquidity crisis?

Imho, I think it's okay. I mean, I don't wash the gold often, but it doesn't exhibit corrosion when accidentally exposed to liquid.

Same with most positive asset, not a crisis if bought early, however I think the R/R getting concerning...unless, u intend as pass on legacy.

Scenario 1.
You intend to invest $10 mil in gold. This $10 mil is just 1% of your investable sum. No worries abt gold liquidity, etc. Just a drop into the pond, lose 100%, other investment will cover.

Scenario 2.
You intend to invest $100k in gold. This $100k is 50% of your investable sum. Then, question will be, why choose to invest in something u don't understand enuf n need to ask in a kopitiam/forum (as mention, line blur nowadays)

In bad times, when liquidity crunch....people sell off everything, gold, silver, house,, car stocks, watch, etc.

Wow! Luckily didn't sell my gold trinkets to fund Hatyai trip.

If the price continues soaring, might just be enuf to go Shanghai?

Siao, price manipulation...tulip mania.

Goldsmith shops might as well tutup kedai, and wait for gold price discovery/revaluation.

1. Mild anxiety
2. Moderate worry
3. Intense fear
4. Panic
5. Terror

If an Unker in East Malaysia who enjoyed successful career and exhibited high financial acumen is "scared" (falls between 3 & 4, in fact closer to 4)...then i think the real problem is national level Fxxxxd! I believe to be true.

I think it getting closer to seven stars.
