I dont think so, there are people who collect notes from different country as collection. Perhaps it will fit nicely in that collection but if gold investment then I doubt it.

Anyone buying in at current price? Very good bargain anyway...long time it havent drop this low...

Maybe might increase allocation a bit when it reaches 1100. Last I bought was in dec when it was around 1200 range. Not a hardcore goldbug, just like to add some to the portfolio for the sake of diversification icon_rolleyes.gif

Edit: Also because our currency is weak, gold isn't as cheap compared to buying end of last year. I remember my purchase price was 126/g & it went as low as 123/g. Now its still at 138/g shakehead.gif

Indeed, i was waiting for it to drop to around 1000-1100 in order to get some gold but gosh, the drop in gold prices is being offset by our ringgits depreciation!

So i guess its not worth to buy gold now using our ringgit right ?  shakehead.gif

Define 'worth' laugh.gif Thats the nice part about gold I guess, its value doesn't drop together with our currency. Imagine those who hold gold in russia, when their currency drop like crazy those people who hold gold I guess will come out richer shocking.gif

Guys, now looks like over the counter will get GST Tax. So does this means that in future we buy gold from BSN will surely kena already?

Looks like it. Can anyone clarify?
*
Is there transaction fee when buying gold? I know GST works by charging 6% on the transaction fee or whatever fee, but when buying gold there isn't right? So how are they going to calculate if they are going to impose GST? hmm.gif

you buy mineral water rm1.00 no fee but got GST rm0.06.

meaning to say, other gold, except LBMMA 999.9 need to pay premium 6%.

those GST on transaction fee only applicable for withdraw money / IBG transfer, not buying physical or paper gold.
*
How exactly do you calculate that 6%???

- You buy UT, the 6% is charged based on SC. So instead of 2% SC, it will now be 2.12%.
- You buy stocks, 6% is charged on brokerage fee & clearing fee.

no gold investment or trading online? rather than buying physical to keep?

Online account quite expensive the spread, UOB bank offers the cheapest spread but need to physically go branch to buy/sell. Sadly they dont have online platform sad.gif
