Top up a bit more for this:

Qnix QX2710

This is a 1440p, Samsung PLS panel based monitor. It is slightly more expensive than the monitors you have listed, but it is well worth the money. The seller will ship the monitor for free, and computer monitors are not taxed. icon_idea.gif

Unless you play games competitively, I don't think response time is going to matter.... You are right on the resolution though. hmm.gif

Anyway, have you considered going 120Hz? icon_idea.gif

Personally I'd save the money and get a smaller 23 inch 1080p... hmm.gif

FYI, different manufacturers have different standards when it comes to measuring response time. Most low end ones tend to use gray-to-gray response times and those monitors have a perceived "low" response time. icon_idea.gif

100hz above been considered before , but seems less choice from there , and still expensive a lot :/ compare to normal 60hz

if 23 inch ... i might as well wait for curved screen , lol
FYI. I am currently using 1080p 21.5 inch

How about going 21:9? brows.gif

Dell U2913WM? brows.gif

Summoning Dell U2913WM user, cstkl1 to tell you the greatness of 21:9 displays... brows.gif

IMO, curved screen looks like a gimmick, and I see little use of curved displays... Not to mention those monitors cost a bomb... sweat.gif

ASUS ROG Swift anyone? brows.gif

I think you might want to read the objective review by TFTCentral:
http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2913wm.htm

You might want to go 120Hz for that... hmm.gif

How about getting a used CRT monitor instead as a second display? Since CRT monitors do not have input lag... brows.gif

lol , I have a great 17 inch CRT monitor, display really wonderful , just resolution low ... and too big to put on my desk - -'

Yea, I would say the perfect monitor for me, 27 inch 100hz above 1080p monitor. rclxm9.gif

But could not found any under 1k price ... Now industry instead of going for higher refresh rate ... they just go for higher resolution ... wider and larger ... rclxub.gif

Did look at gaming monitor ... but feel it sort of kinda rip off our money by just putting a GAMING tag on the monitor ...

and recently Asus a lot of quality issue ... so not really looking into it.

BenQ XL2720Z... though it cost RM1.6K...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16824014375

Anyway, it's still cheaper than the overpriced ASUS ROG Swift, which cost at RM2.7K... sweat.gif sweat.gif

...or get the 1440p Korean IPS monitor, and overclock the refresh rate... Some users reported that those monitors are capable of overclocking to 96/120Hz...
You can always game on 1080p should your GPU don't have the muscle to push 1440p... icon_idea.gif

Yup, the seller is in Korea.... Warranty wise, should anything happens, just ship it back to Korea... Though you need to bear the shipping cost... sweat.gif

Just ask CuteDay, since he has one. brows.gif

Seriously, the 1440p Korean IPS is one of the best monitors you can buy under 1K. tongue.gif

But it great with the price...

Well, you say that, but you'd be surprised with the fact that one of the fastest gaming monitors on the market right now, the BenQ XL2428T with an ultra fast TN panel accually delivers avg of 13ms, with maximum of 14ms: http://www.tftcentra...enq_xl2420t.htm  smile.gif One thing is what the manufacturers declare the response time to be, another is how they mesure it, for example the DELL form the first post is rated for 8ms like most DELL IPS monitors available. And then there's the way tft central measures it, which is be most accurate or "honest".

So basically this puts the difference of the ultra fast BenQ and the DELL I found only with 3ms.

input lag. it depends also in conjuction with framerates, refresh rate, and keyboard/monitor delay.

so like the rog swift unless u have a titan/780ti sli/tri-sli .. seriously wont be a benefit to anybody.

as per usual see the gaming experience u want. buy the gc that can support that or gc's. then the cpu/mem/ssd that can help the system to not choke.
PSU/COOLing/Casing for long term efficiency and consistency.

the 21:9 is more of a multimedia monitor. not just gaming but generally more of a multitasking work monitor. gaming benefit experience is just a side on the ultra wide screen affect.

TN... if its not a 10bit .. not worth it. but those are expensive as ips if not more.

uhm, if you guys are going for gaming and unless you're having gtx780, if not i wouldn't recommend using 1440p monitor. I am using gtx 760 and seriously, benchmark scores dropped at least 40-50% when i set 1440p for the test.

And of course the colors and contrast everything are superb, except for a little bit of BLB, but if you're playing online games or high end games, 1080p is just nice.
