The Celestial Movies feed here is a dedicated Singapore feed but in SD (yawn)! The progs are different too due to different region rights. The ones on astro is newer.

Ah yes, it's the Jia Le Channel 佳乐台, right? I'm quite surprised that they even took Malaysian made (Astro made, to be precise) Hokkien programmes too...

Yes, probably, Astro did some clause along the lines, if u want Astro RIA, Prima etc., you need to buy some Astro Chinese. Programs etc. Etc., I think. Haha. Or it could be limited Hokkien comedy programs Fr Taiwan.

Bye bye FOX Sports News SD and Channel [V] SD, Starhub just joined astro by dropping these chs just to cut cost. One needs to depend on Singtel TV to continue watching them. At least [V] is HD on Singtel though. Oh well.

Celestial Movies is owned by Celestial Tiger Entertainment. Kix and Thrill are also owned by this company.

Celestial Movies you watch on Astro is Malaysian Astro feed, and you can change between Mandarin or Cantonese audio languages. Singtel TV is different feed than Malaysia's, and if I'm not mistaken, you cannot change multiple audio languages and Mandarin audio language will be the priority.

Also, Celestial Movies HD also available too. It shows different movies (meaning that it is not simulcast compared to SD feed) and Celestial Movies HD is only available in Malaysia, and nowhere else.

Celestial Tiger Entertainment is still linked to astro / astro Overseas Ltd:

Headquartered in Hong Kong, CTE’s majority shareholders are Saban Capital Group, a leading private investment firm specializing in the media, entertainment and communications industries; Celestial Pictures, a diversified Asian entertainment company owned by Astro Overseas Limited; and Lionsgate, the world’s largest independent filmed entertainment studio.

"if u want Astro RIA, Prima etc., you need to buy some Astro Chinese"?
I don't get what you mean.

Astro Ria and Prima is a Malay channel, why "buy some Astro Chinese. Programs etc."?

Sometimes channel operator throw in certain clauses to close a deal …. So my conspiracy theory is that astro might have included a line requesting Singtel to buy selected programming from their other ethnic units. This series also played on Starhub channel years ago. So, strange that Singtel buying and airing it.

can someone be kind enough to post some shots of TARA HD for me? For this channel which airs COLORS HD or STAR Plus HD (I read somewhere) programs, astro leaves the COLORS HD channel bug intact?

Winning these trade awards is one thing .... Pay TV operators like astro, StarHub, now TV, TrueVisions etc. should strive to win the hearts of subscribers, who is actually helping to keep them "alive", instead. Only then, will it be something to shout about.

A few is not many. How much does it cost anyway to change all SD to 16:9?
*
From what I know, it doesn't cause anything to change to 16:9, all astro need to do is select the 16:9 setting fr the decoder box, that's all.

Believe astro still assume a lot of users uses 4:3 CRT TVs .... For fear of upsetting them, chose to letterbox it is a safer choice .....

There was a press release on it: https://www.astro.com.my/mediaroom/articled...op-in-singapore

Astro's A-List SVOD channel managed to wiggled their way here. :-)

Other new chs include TV5MONDE Style HD, Stingray DJAZZ HD, Stingray Brava HD

Good thing Love Nature HD is a freeview channel.
