Major cock up last Sunday when Fox Sports decided to air the F1 live coverage on Fox Sports 1 instead of the original scheduled on Fox Sports 3. tongue.gif

Obviously they didn't take into account the almost sure accident in Monaco & the broadcast would stretch beyond the allocated time & will clash with the next program which happens to be live BPL match involving Manchester United. I think they missed about 8-10 minutes of the live football.

Perhaps asstro requested them to show F1 on the main Fox Sports channel coz of the many complaints? Well, after this cock-up for sure Fox gonna tell asstro to subscribe to Fox Sports 2 & 3 in HD, no compromise next time. Good thing the football season ended already tongue.gif

I think Fox Sports scheduling was determined by Fox International Channels Asia. Because it broadcast same feed in South East Asia.

I believe so too but it was originally scheduled to be shown on FS 3

When they lose their football broadcasting rights, expect huge drop in subscribers. Or will they ever?

And yet, there's nothing about Fox Sports 2 & 3 in HD. Guess they can't use the "not enough capacity" lame excuse anymore.

Celebrate 20 years? It's just a reminder how many years they've managed to monopolise satellite TV in Malaysia. And what do us subscribers get for this "celebration"? Free OD music? WTF la. At least reward your loyal subscribers with a 20% discount off this month's bill or RM20 off. Puiiii...

Their exclusive satellite TV license will expire Feb 2017. I hope the government will liberalize the satellite TV licenses after that. Mega TV, MiTV and ABN failed because cable TV won't work in Malaysia. For Hypp TV, it is not feasible to cover the whole Malaysia, especially rural areas.

HyppTV has something going for them mainly the weather proof telecast. But the infra for unifi is just too slow for them to make any dent into asteruk share on paid TV. And without a broad subscription base, I think they are unable to secure popular channels including the inability to fight for the lucrative EPL rights.

Here's to another 20 years of asteruk monopoly.

Bloody blood sucking corporation! They can't even upgrade their SD channels to 16:9 format when almost every home has a widescreen TV.

Actually, there are few SD channels in 16:9 already. See Arena 801.

A few is not many. How much does it cost anyway to change all SD to 16:9?

From what I know, it doesn't cause anything to change to 16:9, all astro need to do is select the 16:9 setting fr the decoder box, that's all.

Believe astro still assume a lot of users uses 4:3 CRT TVs .... For fear of upsetting them, chose to letterbox it is a safer choice .....

That's just stupid, not moving with the time.
