It's Fox Sports fault? I have the impression Asstro is the one at fault coz of their reluctance to increase the number of HD channel.

Golf (if you're interested) is one of those sports telecast that ought to be broadcasted mandatorily in HD. Such a small ball how to watch in SD? Tennis is the other sports.

New EPL TV rights coming soon. I wonder if got any other bidder from Malaysia beside Asstro or not?

But is it essential for measat 3B to be operational then only they can launch Fox Sports 2 & 3 in HD? They have no difficulty having 5-6 extra HD channels during events like World Cup & Olympics.

Should I care since I don't watch golf? It's still an expensive sport so fans should be able to pay right? Smart move Asstro.

For fans, most likely. I'm a football fan. If they offer a dedicated channel for football, I'll take it. If they offer MUTV HD for 50, I'll take it. It's a surprise actually after all these years, Asstro don't have a dedicated football channel. At least hypptv does that...sigh

Haha..yeah I know. Actually all those variety channels are pretty pointless if they don't show it almost on same day as US & uncensored

Live events especially sports are about dollars & cents AND rights. If one day Hypptv buys the rights for example BPL, Asstro will have no choice but to kowtow to TM. Asstro recently already said they won't pay extra for the upcoming rights renewal. This paves the way for others to bid more than Asstro & take this very important rights away from Asstro. Then perhaps we can see who's boss coz I sure the hell won't continue with Asstro if they can't show BPL.

I don't think free TV have the capability to pay the money to have the BPL rights. Only contender is TM.
