Well maybe they can rent the capacity to others pay TV operators..
*
yes they make big money by leasing transponders, infact most of their space has been taken up,thats why they are not interested to add good channels anymore, they prefer buy stuffs from pasar malam and make rojak instead biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
http://www.lyngsat.com/Measat-3.html If u check here u wl see its leased to India while Measat3a/b to indonesia and other global providers

My humble opinion given rain fade issues satelite service is too costly,I doubt there will be another player, fast and cheap internet will be the best choice

Think about using the KuBand dish and getting ST2 satelite for less then RM50 per month for 500 over channels( No china coverage) Why pay almost RM200 for assteruk's home cooked and malaysian feed channels! Asstro shld think abt it ,asstro is not giving super good channels its just a recycle Bin and they shld give service less then RM100 they are not worth more then that!

With removal of ZEE, introduction of TARA HD and upgrade of LIFETIME to LIFETIME HD, I think Astro is indirectly forcing people to upgrade their legacy decoders to BYOND set top box.

which will come FOC but with a 2 year contract smile.gif

Rest assured there will be NO competitors for assteruk, their only killer will be cheap super fast broadband, good internet is all needed to KIV assteruk! Maxis pulled out so did TM ,astro channels on Hyppo were removed! mega_shok.gif Now maybe a new JV whereby astro channels wl also be delivered via unifi hmm.gif

Guys after i replaced my faulty byond decoder recently, my HT with tv no longer works

Everytime i want it to work,
1) i have to off the tv (and HT)
2) unplug astro hdmi,
3) On tv
4) plug in astro hdmi

Any idea what else i can do? The HT works fine in all other modes (bluetooth usb radio). Only tv output nothing. All settings has been set to hdmi arc input

check that astro's hdmi cable supports arc,try another cable and set yr beyond sound to 5.1

I have tried multiple hdmi cables as that was my first thought. Im sure the hdmi supports arc because it works if i on the tv first with the astro hdmi unplugged and plug in the hdmi later.

If i on the tv with astro hdmi plugged in, it wont work.

Setting on astro is already on 5:1. Ive exhausted all options on my tv and my astro box. 😞

do u subscribe HD services? If u do then maybe its the box hmm.gif

u just replaced your decoder recently.. meaning within 1 year period..

so it's under warranty period. so u should be getting replacement  icon_rolleyes.gif

Lastly did u try to change ports, cos in some tvs not all ports are arc. If nothing works well hw sure another box will solve yr issue? hmm.gif

astro is over priced and believe me they will never improve their services, still on MPEG2 like a third world country! My opinion astro SD is perfect for old CRT tvs not the new ones.Thats why no outlet will demo astro for you!! biggrin.gif

Jayatv HD is just a logo and a upscaled version, there is NO real HD,asstro did not allow suntv HD,which has real HD content, so Jayatv HD is out of question!
