Malaysia ICE eq is ridiculous expensive,
and alot of big big ICE brand withdraw from the market
Like dynadio, STEG,

Once ICE it is a 4-5 figure thing.
U go see cruthfield and sonix electronix and compare to ICE price here..
*
complaint price? well maybe can complaint buyer?

u buy an amp for rm500usd, install underseat is 80 usd , and wiring which cost u another 50usd

u buy an amp in malaysia for rm1500, you get free install underseat and free wiring...130USD for workmanship and wiring converted to RM by X3 is RM490...

so now ice at which country is cheaper?

QUOTE(sonyman @ Sep 13 2014, 09:39 PM)
i was wondering as i just got myself into ICE last month ago.

All the while i never bothered as i have always thought ICE is for Boom Boom Bang Bang.

I only had the perception when i installed the Morel's and everything begin to change. I could copy my Audiophile Music and play them on the Car. Can bring my mobile HIFI where ever i go.

Last time i was driving a Waja, it came with Clarion Stock Unit and never thought that the sound could be better.

I am considered a Experience person in the Hifi part but ICE. i know nothing. But at least i can relate and compare the sound Quality at home and in the Car.

I have a Morel Maximo with an entry level Pioneer HU. Which sounds much better than my stock unknown brand HU. Now driving a Hyundai Accent. I did some Silent coat and also Dynamat and sound is just superb, other than some small rattling that still happens. I dont have a sub yet so my maximo is running i believe as low as it can go. If i have a sub which will come in a couple of months, i think the rattling will be reduced.
i am just wondering, where are all those experts and Sifu's, or is it Lowyat ICE thread is not as famous as other forums sites.

Just wanna share and ask, if you guys feeling and also those who were once in ICE, why did you Quit?

Because they no longer produce good stuff at reasonable price. Most ICE seller place just recommend conventional wisdom stuff -> higher price better quality. Or lack of professionalism.

My uncle play expensive ICE like hell but sound quality sucks, while my father-in-law 2nd hand units are 100x better.

i believe that depends on individual.

i actually had plans for ICE on my new car, however i picked up interest in Motorsports and i cannot possibly splurge on both and i chosen the latter.

inspira are better performance for ice rather than performance...

There are many ways to listen to music and ICE is just one of them.....
There is the portable type - Headfi and there is the Mobile type - ICE....
If you got the space.. then you will go Home HiFi and if you do not.. then there is always the Home HeadFi Setup...

ICE is just one way... to listen to music... and we are only in our car for certain hours of the day.

For those of us that from Klang Valley... old enough to remember the Weekend ICE blasting along the beach at Klang think years ago where you see pimp up cars and those girls we can only see from afar as our own ride not in the league of the cars that they came in.........
*
i believe most of the people are just staying in hotel...they dun do anything more than bath, sleep and eat....most time in house yes, but the time for music in house, dun think it will be more than inside car for average working adult...

wah lau, no DSP sommore, and active sommore. Apa rahsia?

The amps must hell of a linear. Plus you cant just go any speakers. need to match them well, else one will over power the other.

BTW, this owner won many awards?

a linear amp is perfect, but it's not what you think after install....

Every car install is a problem, either u solve it, or u live with it....

playing usb is still usb. the internal decoder is not gonna give u 100% sound quality compare the 1 they used for cd....even u use flac/wav on usb, it's still a lot of loss.....that's the reason why u see a lot of highend usb player that sell more than thousands out there which also claim can restore the loss audio..which to me is BS..

spend thousands on that small thing, then buy online for certain flac/wav format music is more expensive than u buy a good cd player and ori cd....

btw, i had experienced with ipad + optical airplay converter and the sound is just a big NO eventhough it's going thru optical and using expensive decoder....

Sometimes it's just good to stick to the traditional way....which explained why there's a grow in people who play with vinyl

and that's the reason for the long posting to tell people to stay away from real good quality music and trade with convenience......

cd dying is not true for now..maybe 10 years later....true? it might not because not everyone will get a freaking expensive "lossless player". Or maybe after 10 years it will be as cheap as cd rom price?

a trend is a trend, quality players still choose cd over "lossless", unless his system cant let him differentiate the difference between cd and lossless...or maybe just a little...

The reason some quit is because loss interest in music in car and turn to other hobby...follow their age...

At the end, actually i dun see the drop in car audio player, it's just that they do not form in a group like old time....

I think epsilon is gonna come out with a 8ch dsp soon or already out as well...

thats budget version of everything... smile.gif

if the current economy is good, actually we can expect more than 5 brand gonna make 8ch dsp locally...but too bad now is not the time..
