I do agree with tongaz86 point out the reason that you shouldn't upgrade is the below reason:
But somehow, I was once think like that, but after I upgraded to 1+1, here is my thought.

I don't complain the following:
1) I don't worry about forgot to bring powerbank/power cord with me when I was outdoor/shopping mall during weekend or outstation/vacation.
2) I don't need to keep managing my file everytime my storage get full and instead manually backup my Nandroid/other heavy file to my PC weekly/monthly.
3) I don't complain my photo with bunch of noise or dark.

Why?
1) Because thanks to the HUGE mAh in the device and much more durable if you flashed into Franco kernel without superb tweak unlike cowithgun
2) Also, thanks to the HUGE 64GB Internal storage, I can kept few Nandroid without always plug back to my PC. I can even plug some Movie in there when I was on-the-go.
3) Because I can shoot hot chicks and zoom in view them lawl.

5.5" phone! dont want! the world is moving towards big screen on the phone!

my KitKat SOT just average 2 hours odd... His did you manage to get around 4 hours without extra kernels?

Im using cm rom and kernal so maybe that helps a bit, if use wifi mix with some 3g then 3-4 sot can be achieved, but if just use 3g only then i only get 2 hours plus of SOT.

the way Project Volta work is mostly conserve battery by making your phone idle as much as possible. some already report something like 30% improvement. it'd be something like, u used to charge your phone after 20 hours (example), now, you only need to charge it 26 hours (30%).

however, if u are heavy user, you should see less improvement. say, u use it continuously for 4 hours playing game. you may see very little improvement since there is really no time for the phone to be idle. it will still be better since on top of Volta, there is ART.

all in all, i am not expecting suddenly huge improvement (like double your usage) in a single charge.
