Clarifies my doubts!!
So means to say that...
since AT In L mode = 1st gear
then L in CVT will keep the car in low ratio.. the car will still upshift but will keep the RPM high? "so called sport mode?"
The L mode in CVT is more like short ratio... for the same amount of throttle level, lets say:
1/4 throttle in D = 2,500rpm
1/4 throttle in L = 3,500 rpm
(figures are example only)
In conventional AT, L will only get you up to ard 35-40kph due to the limitation of first gear but the L in CVT is entirely different story.
When I test driven the Iriz 1.6, I slotted in to L and the whole power delivery definitely feels "punchier" than D. Max speed I've obtained on L is around 140kph, before I need to slow down to make a U-turn.
