I'm getting the premium variant, actually I'm still confuse on whining noise, all I hear is the bassy sound.. Is that CVT whining sound? Or engine sound? I remember the exhaust sounds bassy too.
*
bassy sound is most probably the engine hum. CVT whining is high pitch, like a cat meowing continuously. laugh.gif

Clarifies my doubts!! thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif

So means to say that...

since AT In L mode = 1st gear

then L in CVT will keep the car in low ratio.. the car will still upshift but will keep the RPM high? "so called sport mode?"
*
The L mode in CVT is more like short ratio... for the same amount of throttle level, lets say:

1/4 throttle in D = 2,500rpm
1/4 throttle in L = 3,500 rpm

(figures are example only)

In conventional AT, L will only get you up to ard 35-40kph due to the limitation of first gear but the L in CVT is entirely different story.

When I test driven the Iriz 1.6, I slotted in to L and the whole power delivery definitely feels "punchier" than D. Max speed I've obtained on L is around 140kph, before I need to slow down to make a U-turn. brows.gif

For 1 day...  yawn.gif

Yesterday all gone, even today morning still cun. I switch off everything to listen this morning also OK.
Then I parked my car in front my office and never drive it till 8pm.

And after siap kerja, the moment I start driving? Almost all re-surface, except the most annoying 'cit cit cit'  blink.gif

Resurface one all is like loose panel sound, when rough road will come out like 'trak trak prak trak' (our country a lot rough road, even newly made road  doh.gif )

Luckily the most annoying 'cit cit cit' not resurfacing.....

Damn weird if you ask me... I parked my car on flat road, no incline no stuff... No idea why morning cun, after kerja rattling all come back...

Morning I drive should be cold, raining + overnight chillness.
But just now I drive also should be cold, raining whole evening...

rclxub.gif

Or are you suggesting there's an optimal degree of temperature for the materials to not rattle?
*
because there are lots of different materials used in the car, the contraction/expansion rate is different for different materials. Even if the weather outside is raining, heat still can accumulate significantly in a car cabin. Just a short period of sunshine alone is suffice to bring the car cabin temperature to start rising.

But this is a rather vague reason la and most people just take it with a grain of salt.

Most people will just blame it on the poor road surface making the car too jigly and/or poor build quality during assembly.

For the hill assist, strangely, it works well for fairly steep slope yet on a few occasion it does not work on non steep slope. Not a major issue as the car moves forward upon pressing the throttle even slightly. I found out that the car can also "balance" itself by pressing the throttle lightly such that it does not move backwards nor forwards at slopes. It feels very similar to a manual car minus pressing the clutch pedal. I realized this when moving out of a parking area where the exit has a small slope before joining the main road. An alternative to pulling the handbrake.

*
Please don't do that. You'll fry the CVT clutch pack.

I got a question in my mind now. As I'm first time car buyer, I book the Iriz in October and the loan approve end of October(pbb). They sent me a notice for the loan application successful.

But here comes the question, when should I start to pay the hire purchase? I login to my pbb and press the hire purchase, it just show me please call our service center. Any idea?

FYI. The Iriz that I booked is 1.3 Exec CVT which has YET arrive.
Do I have to start paying now or after I get my car first?
*
Since there isn't a car allocated for you yet, the bank can't make a binding agreement with you yet.

You start paying one month after getting your car.

new myV with new gear box (E-AT). but duno how it work?
*
probably having the same shifting behavior like the axia; ie: downshift a gear when braking during downhill to induce engine braking and communicating with ECU to offer smoother shifting with less shift shock.

last few years, i heard this saying that on stop&go jam,
do not put to P (or N?) because the tranny coolant is not moving..

have u ever heard of that? aku lupa la  sweat.gif
*
if you put it in P or N when engine is idling, you'll notice the rpm will be higher (800rpm) than in D (650rpm). That's the pump engaged to pump the CVT oil in and out of the CVT cooler for cooling and to keep the CVT fluid flowing in the system. In D, the pump will be disengaged, because the increase of engine rpm due to throttle input will keep the fluid flowing & cooling. Therefore, it is recommended to slot into N if you are stationary for 1 minute or more.

And guys, put on your thinking cap. There is a reason why 'city drive' and 'often stuck in jam' is counted as 'severe usage'.
