its normal. one of abcm function. mr assholer, i think ur upshift at 2.5k rpm is better than prev upshift to 3krpm. just maintain ur current upshift style,it will balance between fc n power.

just upshift beyond 2.5krpm when needed such as overtaking, hill climbing n when during carry highload.
*
Good advise, another reason not shift @ 3k is the engine noise, rpm above 3k the engine is way to loud for me, it doesn't sound good.

It is normal for proton engine, everytime we lift off the throttle petal, the rpm will slightly rise by itself?

From ur statement, i bet ur is manual Iriz?? brows.gif

Is 'normal' for drive-by-wire Proton engine, due to the delay between pedal input and throttle output.

When u lift off the throttle pedal, due to the delay, the throttle body is still open, then u press clutch at this moment and the engine like suddenly become free load, so the RPM slightly rise.

Why I know? Becos this drive-by-wire 'delay feature' started since manual Saga BLM. whistling.gif Just surprise after 7 years they still remained this 'feature'. doh.gif

Try test another way round: In free gear N, press your throttle and observe the engine sound and RPM rise, you will notice your engine will only rev up 0.5s after u press throttle.
*
I tried before, press the throttle, heard the engine noise first, half second later only see the rpm rise.
Maybe an aftermarket throttle controller to solve this issue?

if u r opt for semi syn or fully syn,i recommend 5w 30 engine oil for better fuel economy. for fully, there r many opt,but the cost really high. for semi,i think shell has 4l 5w 30 semi. petronas only 10w 30 at the moment for semi,n mostly 3l,4l is quite rare. u need to top up 1l 10w 30 though. dunno bout others semi synth, but for the moment ay petrol station, only found shell 5w30 available for semi.
*
I was quoted by SC, top up RM160++ for Fully 10W-40, semi 10w-30 (Syntium 800 4L) top up RM60.

in branch sc,only petronas oil is offered. iinm, fully offered is 15w 50 rating which im not recommend, too heavy actually for new car. u can choose 10w 30 semi syn though.

but they did allow u to bring any reputable brand engine oil. branch sc allow that, but i heard that some sc,most prob dealer sc,didnt allow u to bring outside eo.

5w 30 is still the best for me,for price n performance. unless u like to rev hard, always drive fast, 5w 40 will suit the way u drive.

to save some money, used semi syn cuz if u used fully, its still the same 10k or 6 month oil change. want to save more, just stick with mineral oil provided. can spend extra cash for tyre upgrade.

it depends on ur pocket though. if u want fully syn,5w 40 rating is really easier to find,5w 30 also available.
*
Thanks for the advise, the sc I went not allowed I bring my own oil. I Choose semi, after 6 month my mileage should be around 6-7k only

I did ask for Syntium 800 10w30 yesterday but the Puchong SC said Iriz should use Syntium 800 10w40. Need to top up RM38.65 on top of the voucher.
*
That is a good price, heard 1 owner service his car was charge rm60 to upgrade too.

1.3 mt standard owner, had the car for exactly one week:

Issues so far (will get it sorted during 1k visit)

1. Power window switch for driver door doesnt work suddenly, seems like the switch doesnt click/contact issue. Anyone else have this prob?

2. Reverse sensor abit weird sometimes works sometimes doesn't. I was really close(few mm) to car behind but sensor didnt give the long beep sound. Happens occasionally.

3. Just noticed the fitting of the glove box abit crooked.

Thats it so far, nothing too major other than driver power window.

I am very pleased with the car, drives very well and handles great. Personally, i wouldnt enjoy the car as much if it wasnt manual transmission though, and i think the 1.6mt is the best of the bunch, too bad need to wait so long. Whats this i hear of a R3 1.3 turbo special? Envy.
*
Don't rely on the reverse sensor, mine car also no more beep sound when engage to reserve gear, only hear tik sound, must be the buZzer spoil.

In term of service, I think authorised SC is alot faster than this Puchong SC.
But in term of support, they got direct access to those technical team in COE so can answer for our problem on the day itself. They said my iriz they need to realign some fuel pump thingy yesterday, that's why finish quite late + ECU + TCU (9.10am - 2.55pm). Regarding my driver seat recliner problem, the CAT is coming to this Puchong SC this Friday to have a look for it. Worse case, change new seat.  Another thing is, the cover for driver side mirror loosen, cannot fit properly when autofold. They order new one for me as well. I don't think this can be achieve if I go to authorised SC. I might service the car at Puchong SC till all the problem sort out, then only service to authorised SC.
*
I saw the CAT came to auth SC to check my car too, since its new model the sc will request CAT to solve it, then only SC can concentrate sell more engine oil.

Occasionally can hear minimal rattling in the dashboard area (only audible if no switch on music/radio). Not able to replicate it all the time, it comes and go randomly (usually happens at low speed, low rpm)... so very hard to catch which area or culprit.

Anyone face the same thing? I heard people complain about the USB area, but mines doesn't feels like is from that area.
*
Mine usb port area was fixed, not more noise. The area behind the steering wheel still produce some noise, but when it hot or after, put you car under the hot sun you won't hear the noise, only when is cold.

I believe the absorber or spring does make some "tak" noise everytime drive through speed bump or uneven road.

Hi,anyone know which bank offer the lowest interest?
I ask SA he said the lowest bank can offer is 2.95,and i ask about stock he said if 1.6 there are ready stock but not the 1.3 cvt.another quest is what free give did you get?
Sorry too many quest.😀😀
*
Not sure which bank offer the lowest, very depend on your financial record, the amount you want to loan and upfront deposit you will paid, even SA cannot guaranty the interest rate he said.

I don't get any discount, the free gift is very standard : smart tag, umbrella, steering lock, full tank petrol & tint voucher (i didn't use it).

ya ya ...same same ....my iswara already having knocking noise ..
how u tested ??? go up and gostan or how ?
*
Not tested on purpose, mine is manual transmission, stuck in traffic, foot on brake pedal, the moment I engage 1st then let go the brake, I expected the car will roll back but it doesn't, it was stand still, and the timing the car "release" the brake just perfect, the moment you playing the clutch and throttle the brake will release and the car no roll back at all, make the ride more pleasant compare to use handbrake.
I never drive a car with hha before so I thought I will only activated at the very sloppy road, it should have activated many already with my acknowledge
I believe the hha will not activated if I pull the handbrake.

nope no news ....must just tell the SA to change to 1.3CVT since she takes so long to find a 1.3 Manual ...

XD

Surprise to hear that cannot find stock for manual 1.3, did they stop the production or produce less due to the low demand?

Possible issues that I found thus far:

Issue 1:

I think the rattling of dashboard is real. It happens when low speed + cornering over slightly rougher road (which is common in our country), the front dashboard area can hear 'krak lak tak' like that. Not super annoying, but definitely need to check on it.

Issue 2:

Sometimes after push start, can't shift gear... need to re-ignite. Now trying to press brake harder when push start. Seems to help.

Issue 3:

Constantly have this "syringe"/"straw" sucking water/air kind of sound.
Heard someone say is the radiator? Not too sure myself, just know is annoying.

If without music on, walao wey, every 10 seconds suck one time like "shhhiiiiiiiut~!". Another 10 seconds "shiiiiiiiiiuk~!" ..... this is thus far the first annoying issue.

-----------------------------

Ohya, go for 1k service need appointment ? Or just walk in let's say during morning or afternoon.
*
Issue 1 : Mine can heard noise from the part behind the steering, once i press it the sound gone.

Issue 3 : Maybe the sound is the Aircond compressor kick in, try to off the air cond and drive see still got sound or not.

Better make appointment to avoid disappointment.

Hmm I did try to mess around with the coldness. Tried about 4 different levels for 1 minutes each (minimum, 25%, 60%, maximum).... doesn't seem to help. Still kick in every 10 seconds... faulty sensor? Or maybe I should let it run longer?

My default level is the lowest one (most left), this is the one that made me notice this.
*
i found it annoying too, not the sound buy the power, the compressor tend to kick in when the rpm reach around 1900 - 2100, then make the car feel slightly under power.

besides, anyone installed door visor already? how much it cost in pj/sunway/subang area?
*
I heard some noise before, when press the brake even at low speed, don't know how to describe the sound, its like "kuak kuak kuak kuak", mostly happen during wet condition like after rain, not heard it for last 2 weeks so far. Some said maybe is the abs, i not sure.

Ok, here's my update after 1 day long of experience at Puchong Jaya SC....

1. Appointment 10am, reached cun cun on time.

2. Called to front desk in less than 5 minutes, filed my feedback (komplen) and asked for semi-synthetic oil.

3. SA say, lebih kurang satu jam lebih atau 2 jam cam tu.

4. 1230pm, can see them done with Oil change and the routine stuff.

5. SA approached, say contacted CAT team, will reach after lunch time.... (padahal I sudah ada cakap dengan seorang from CAT team yesterday, say tml will go puchong SC, shouldn't they like reserve the slot?) But so far so good.

6. Went for lunch (jalan kaki) and back 1pm+... no sign of CAT team.

7. Around 2pm+, can see 2 guys from HQ working on my HU. Took them until 1 hour to replace a new HU.

8. 3pm, took my car for a round. Guy A told me "GPS ok sudah, cuma setting tak elok. Sebelum langsung takda signal kan? Sekarang shud be fine" .... after 10 minutes, Guy B check cables... "Eh, patut lah, cable sudah putus, perlu replace cabling and antenna." (Eh, not say should be fine 1 mer? Cuma settings? Now cable a?)

9. After that, they spent 30 minutes of "don't know what they doing, press here press there" in my car. And gosh... they are unfamiliar with the HU, took them 1 minutes plus to finally found the settings page. And here they are fixing my GPS....

10. So is 345pm now, I asked, "macam maner rattling tu? And itu air-cond bising sangat ni, asyik kick in". They replied: "Masa SC call us, cakap radio jer, takda bawak spare part untuk lain lain. Aircond tu, tunggu representative lain, taktau kenapa tak sampai sampai lagi."

Fun fact, the feedback form given to them listed these:
• Wifi and GPS not working (not radio)
• Rattling kat front dashboard
• rear brake noise
• Sometimes, hard to shift gear after push-start

11. And 430pm only the aircond guy reach, then took another half hour to refill gas. Apparently, my car either low gas or possible condenser leakage (which they can't confirm), so sensor keep sending signal not enough cold, thus the compressor kick in.

12. 430pm, bring up rattling again, they replied: "kita buat sama sama dengan GPS you masa next appointment. Kita ingat Radio sajer."

--------------------------------

Conclusion: 10am > 5pm.... just regular maintenance + swap an already functioning HU out + refill air-cond gas....

For those who know chinese, they are literally 治标不治本 .... they only fix symptom, never fix the cause.... just like HU, shouldn't they determine whether is the issue on HU or cable before proceeding with replacing the HU?

Sigh.... my first experience with Proton After sales... definitely not A class huh.

(Fun fact 2: at 430pm, a group of foremen/mechanic open a table tennis table and start playing table tennis...)
*
Sometime I not so keen to report the issue of the car to sc, worry they will make it worse.

My issues:
*wrinkle appeared on all leather seats
*gap between the front bumper and front light cover
*small spot of excess paint on the front hood
*the frequent suction sound from the compressor
*obvious rattle of rear spoiler when closing the boot and driving over bumps
*"ktak" sound when rear view mirror folds.
*creaking sound on the front passenger and rightside rear passenger door.

Just got my car last week.
*
The wrinkle on leather already spoted on Paultan's photo, the non even launch.
You will hear more noise coming from dashboard in next few weeks.
