some tips for sandy bridge user..
U all can test the system stability in shorter time with prime95..
Just select custom and test with
1344fft 1344fft 1minute 80-90% available ram for 15mins
If can passed the test u can test with 1792fft 1792fft 1minute 80-90% available ram for 15mins too..

If passed 2 tests on certain vcore..then your system should stable for 12hours prime95 blend test.

the 1344 and 1792 fft is the extremely hard and best test for sb`stability

Normally,if your system is unstable..one of the workers in prime95 will stop/BSOD will happen within 10mins of both test

Hi actually the above setting was auto restart sweat.gif , then i raised the vcore to 1.35v then it can be stable at 4.5Ghz, but the temperature is quite high Idle at 41c, full load at 78c due to my room temperature is hot around 30c-35c.

The cpu speed stable at 4.5Ghz, how to make it like 1.6Ghz, like previously my default setting, when running games or any program, then it only goes up to 4.5ghz max?

and i have another questions, i need the advice. what is the best setup for my casing airflow to exhaust the hot air and the fan noise can control below 30db.

Casing HAF-912 Advance
2 x Noctua NF-F12 PWM 120mm
2 x Noctua NF-S12a PWM 120mm
2 x Cooler Master Blue LED Jetflo 120mm

Which fan is the best for my radiator cooling, side panel fan and top casing fan.

my current setup,

2 x Noctua NF-F12 PWM 120mm for water cooler Radiator
1 x Noctua NF-S12a pWM for side panel (Jetflo too noisy)
1 x Jetflo on top casing, input the air in my casing

Left 1 x Noctua-S12a PWM and 1 x Jetflo.... i feel the NF-S12a CFM airflow is not strong enough when comparing to Jetflo 120mm. Any suggestion? notworthy.gif

thanks.

I'm using 2700K too, was running 4.6GHz stable for months until I decided not to overclock anymore as the I could no longer bear the extra heat in my room.

I find a good balance of performance and heat by running it at 4.3GHz.

What you mentioned about the default 1.6GHz and auto 4.x GHz when gaming is the Intel Speedstep must be turned on for dynamic frequency switching based on load.

Vcore = 1.38
OC to 4.5ghz
idle minimum = 35c

PLL Enabled.
Turbo boost is "Enabled"

running prime95 full load @ 80c,

my room temperature is about 30c

I think because my chip is a lemon. If I had a nicer chip, I probably would have watercooled my CPU and tried getting some extra Mhz. But alas, with my Hyper 212 Evo, I can't, so I will leave it.
