You need to use a lower level bro. About 2-4 levels lower than you as the Engrams is dropped from killed enemies. So the more enemies you kill, the higher your chances of legendary engrams dropping. I noticed that we need to kill about 400 to get 1 Legendary to drop. Will try again today.

I just tried this method yesterday, but most of the equipments I have on me now is from doing the Strike Playlist on Level 24 while farming Vanguard Marks. I only replaced my Primary weapon yesterday from one of the rare Engrams received as the new Auto Rifle has 34 bullets in the magazine, compared to 21 earlier.

I have 13 Strange Coins now, so I'll be waiting for Xur to come this weekend and redeem it for exotic armor. Not going to chance it for an Exotic Engram! If get different class or not exotic item, I'll be too heartbroken to continue on already.

engram is exchanged with motes of light anyway, not strange coin.

wta, how exactly did you lvl up after lvl 20? try reading wiki and its to get ARMOR with LIGHT. which i'm still blur on this.

the armor stat will show light, example like +5 light or so on.

this 'light' number will increase your light level.

yup...and make sure to upgrade the armor also

Just kill some enemies and you'll get the blue loots.
At first blue armour doesn't give you light for some, but most does give some light stat. Light stats increase your level bar.
When you reach a certain amount of light, your level meter will increase.

Blue/Rare armours has a max of 15 lights once you upgrade it to the max(This is base on my experience that is).
Best stat/light armours are usually at level 20. Check the armour and see what levels they are, some doesn't give good stats but most do.

For lvl 29-30, you will need Raid gears since they maxed out at 30 lights. Current legendaries from drops and npcs won't cut it

Well I think if you fully upgrade all of the current gear, you can reach 29. Those last 3 upgrade that require ascendent mats, I know the first gives 1 light and second gives 2 light, wonder if the last one gives 3 light. Even if the last one only gives 2 and if my calculation is correct, that's enough light for 29.


I think I play too much. I got like 6 legendary engram today not including those I get from 2 Cryptarch rank up, only gotten a duplicate exotic sniper and legendary warlock bond which I turned into ascendent. The rest all ascendent stuff and mote of light. Only gotten 2 rare fusion rifle, I need 6 more for the exotic bounty. Yeah, I gotten that today after turning in 3 bounties. I went with Pocket Infinity (Fusion Rifle - Shattered Memory Fragment)


Anyway look at the screenshot below for all the stuff that happened today. I spent 23 motes iinm last week and look at how many I have left now ready for Xur to reappear
