MBB promo:

3 mth FD promo is 3.87% (step up), min 50k

12 mth FD 4% with upfront interest  min 25k
No, PBB step up is 3.68% + 4.08% (ur typo error ?). Effective rate is 3.88% only.

For MBB, try to ask and convince them the fund has to do with the 3 banks. If not UOB 4.05% 12 mths is the second best one so far.  smile.gif

Can't seem to see anything regarding the 4% Promo on Maybank site - any idea when this expires?

Also a couple of other questions :

Citibank FD (placed to get a CC) maturity 27/10 , CIMB maturity 28/10 can I uplift these on maturity date, or only the day after?

Maybank FDs (again, placed to get CC) - bank holds original cert, is it possible to uplift and move them to this promotion (maturing tomorrow)

Existing Maybank FD (Islamic, 2 month) maturity date is in November - but only at 2 month board rate so won't forfeit much interest - will be looking to put this into the same promotion also biggrin.gif

If you read the earlier post, you would have known that MBB promo is "under counter".  brows.gif

By the way, Captain Gen-X , any discovery of "under counter" in MBB yesterday ?  tongue.gif

You can always uplift the FD on the maturity date.  smile.gif

Ah I see, Thanks. Good to know - only placed FDs so far, never cashed out blush.gif

I'll message my RM, see if she knows about it

Some of their branches don't really care. I mentioned that few times already.  smile.gif

Contacted RM earlier, she first said only promotion was 3.8% for 12 months (ending today apparently)

I mentioned I heard about the 4% upfront interest and 3.87% 3 month, and yeah is available for fresh fund.

My FDs aren't maturing until 27/28th so hopefully this offer will still be active then.

If I uplift an FD, can I just bank it into say a CIMB savings account - then get a bankers draft from them the next day and deposit as fresh funds? biggrin.gif

12 Months 4% upfront interest Maybank FDs done today smile.gif

Went to uplift Citi TD/FD which was used to secure a CC - this means it takes a month (25 working days) to uplift , so probably won't be able to get this into the same promotion any more sad.gif

Did second 4% Maybank upfront FD today - was meant to do it the other day but they had to wait since Wednesday for bankers cheque from CIMB to clear.

Now only if Citi didn't take a month to uplift my other FD which was to secure a card I could have done that one too cry.gif

What does this mean? Mean if i put deposit the money >6 months but get it b4 12 months, they pay 3.83%, but if > 12 months, they will pay me 4.28%?
and what does the 'fresh fund only' mean?
*
First 6 months 3.83%, next 6 months 4.28%

Ie 6 x 3.83% , 6 x 4.28% = 4.05% effective rate

FYI, I uplifted existing i-FD with MBB and moved it to the 4% 12 month upfront promotion.

Did you transfer out the money to other bank before placing the 4% 12-mth upfront promotion?
i remember min. placement 25k and must be fresh funds.
*
Nope, I believe cashier processed it as uplift FD to cash and then deposit if I remember correctly.

Anyway, didn't leave the branch or withdraw any physical cash - was all done on the spot.

Was more than 25K
