As you wish, SCB has extended the FD promo until 31 October 2014:  rclxms.gif
This time SCB want to hit RM 500 Million target..  sweat.gif

However, do take note that the 15 months tenure earlier had been revised to 18 months instead.

[B]Place a minimum of RM5,000 in fresh funds into a fixed deposit for 18 months and earn 4.25% p.a.[cool.gif

Tenure
6 months 3.75% p.a.
12 months 4.00% p.a
18 months 4.25% p.a.

thx for heads up. just in time  smile.gif  called them up said valid till 15 October. must open savings account rm200, but can immediately withdraw RM190 leaving min RM10 in acct.

Ambank FD promo 3.85% p.a. for 5 months tenure does not required a depositor to open savings account, don't be misled. I made an FD placement last month, you just need to open an FD account that's all, standard procedure.

went to 2 MBB branches, both at best can offer 3.7percent. Higher or islamic rate
already met qouta, took them 50min to check. Must wait until new quota. Lots of bull. Got tricked and lose 3 days interest cos can't make it to other banks.
*
Me too, the MBB branch officer denied having any 3.87% promo and kept insisting 3.7% only.

UOB has new straight forward FD Promo (without CASA thingy)

UOB Awesome Promotion
(1st September - 30th November 2014)

3 Months - 3.80% p.a.
12 Months - 4.05% p.a.

(Min. placement 10K)

* Btw, you won't find this on their website.

thanks for the heads up..planning to go to SCB this Monday
Thanks for sharing, too bad my fund will come from UOB..so not a fresh fund
*
Actually I uplifted my FD from UOB today by Cashier's Order to make a new placement in MBB for the 3-month promo but ended with nothing and instead had to deposit the cheque into my MBB CA for clearance, wasting the weekend interest.
I better be going back to UOB on Monday for the 3-month 3.80% p.a. as I do not think there is a better rate anywhere else for
3-month FD. hmm.gif

looks good - thanks for heads up nomen  rclxms.gif btw, do you know if they adjust maturity date for public holidays like BR does?
*
Through my previous experience and FD placements with UOB they had never made any adjustments on maturity dates but
need not worry about it because they send out quarterly statements to you so that you can keep track on all the FD placements
with them.

Bro, unlike you, I don't place FD with non-commercial banks, therefore, I receive the FD cert on the spot (or a piece of useless paper confirming the FD for Statement based accounts) and no need cheque to be cleared  tongue.gif Having said this, bbgoat said that not the case for HLB Islamic, but then again Islamic products are not Fixed Deposit. For Deposit Deposit with commercial banks, no need cheque to be cleared if one place it during banking hours.

Bro, talking about FD effective date. HLB, OCBC and UOB can even back date for me FD placements (e.g. my FD mature but I was overseas and requested for new FD Promo rate or else I be stuck at Board Rates) as long as they have HQ approval.
*
Wah! Bro Gen-X, I am full of envy for you for having such a privilege. notworthy.gif
Life is wonderful to be rich like you thumbup.gif
Welcome back frequent flyer!
*BTW, thank you for guiding us with your most up-to-date and comprehensive FD blog.
