what to be confused?

According to UOB, we need minimum RM 2K to open a saving account so that the interest can deposit in
saving account every 6 months; in fact, we can withdraw RM 1990 from the saving account in next day.
But one member said that he just put RM 20 to open the saving account.

Where & when did you get the notice of CIMB's new IR?

The 3 mth 3.87% FD is MBB conventional FD. New fund 3.87%, existing fund 3.7%. Also have to be fund from 3 other specific banks (but some Maybank branch did not really insist on it).

For 3 mth, the 3.87% is probably the best, I think. 

Should be able to, but I did not ask about the minimum placement so better call to ask first. 

You can use cheque. As I said in post 563, some branch insist but some just ask if you have acct in one of the 3 banks.  Some may not ask ?   

Oh you spilled the beans on the banks. Oh well, the 3rd bank is MBSB.

It looks to me even MBB each branch implement procedure differently. Last week 12 mth 4 % FD got the cert same day. Today 3 mth 3.87% personal cheque have to clear first before getting the FD cert. Diff MBB branch. One other branch suggested me to get bankers cheque from one of the 3 banks for the FD promo.  Interesting !

Took advantage of their 6mths @ 4% today. Got some freebies. Apparently have to open a Savings account  . Another useless savings passbook. Take note when opening, make sure they dont open bookless account for you, else they charge RM20 for the ATM/Visa card . Lucky I saw teller holding ATM card and stopped her in time and change to "passbook" account. Sneaky RHB, never ask customer beforehand.

Was at UOB today. New rates. 4.00% for 6 months. 4.20% for 12 months.

Just received info from RHB Bank manager that HQ informed them that the 6/9 mth FD promotion min placement has been reduced from 50k to 10k.  The rates are as before at 4%/4.15% respectively. It will end by end of Dec.
