if only sony can bump up the screen resolution to full HD. Even HTC can do it with the previous M7 with 4.7"

Add more pixel that you can't really notice to sacrifice battery life I rather go for 720p for 4.7" screen.The race for more ppi is kinda crazy now.

my only problem is the speakers. why cant they center it and move the sony logo to the side?

mind to share what it is bundle with? it is time to upgrade from my xperia SP...

A higher resolution screen on a 4.7 inch wont yield much difference on your eyes Im afraind. Thats why Sony didnt come out with a full hd screen. Try looking at the screen of the Z1 Compact and you would know how it feels like.

Btw, I think by the time Z3 Compact arrives here in Malaysia, it would be near the launch of the Z4 Compact. This is due to Sony's policy of 6 Months Lifespan for flagship models and Malaysia being one of the LAST country to receive the device, I think it would be end of 2014 or early 2015 before we will see Sony Malaysia launch this phone.
Just like what happened to the Z2, launched only a few months ago and now we have the Z3 already.

Being an Android device, we still have the urge to feel good if the spec is better even we are not using or noticing it. I'm currently on that position. I almost plan to buy the Z1 compact early this year. But the moment to wait for the phone to officially arrive in Malaysia is very tiring. I ending up buying iOS.

it may not be the case also.
z1 was announced at IFA 2013 (early sept 2013). and it was on sale in m'sia in early oct 2013. only 1 month gap which is quite fast. but some how sonny screw up z2's supply worldwide, not only delay for m'sia. hope they learn the lesson in z2's case and never repeat it.

as for compact, sony skip z2 compact and go straight to z3 compact. so even if z3 compact is delayed, chances are we won't see z4 compact early next year and go straight to z5 compact in ifa 2015.

well , these are just based on history la. we all hope the best can be done from sony

Do remember that it is now Sony's policy that all its FLAGSHIP DEVICES ONLY WOULD HAVE A LIFE CYCLE OF 6 MONTHS before being replaced. And that is FAST.

yeah... that's their policy/strategy.... what to do? we as a consumer don't really need to follow right? we just buy what suits us.

to me, sony's 6 month cycle is just to provide more alternative/choices. i don't like this model, 6 months time is not that long to wait. in between, something happen to my current phone, i can always get the latest model.

some will argue about the delay in updates with many models. but hey, my current z1 still getting lots of update, although some are buggy la

i don't care much of their strategy. just get what suits me

yah me too .... before sony purple i hate purple phone, story change after i own xperia Z n Z1 purple, now start to miss this purple color

Though it's 6 months cycle, but can see the spec doesn't change much, even Z1 compare to Z3 also didn't seen any improvement (1080P screen, S800/S801) Only the ram 2GB vs 3GB

Replacement cycle for Xperia compact is 1yr, not 6mths like the flagship.
