samsung have really lost their touch. Keep making the same look device while Mi phones getting better and better
*
htc one m8 look also very similar with m7. Mi 4 many people said look like ifon.

note edge appearance is so far more unique due to the flexible screen

Note 4 will come with exynos 5433 and snapdragon 805. Any info regarding which version to launch here?

There is a poll in xda regarding which version they like in note 4. the poll result is 50:50 on this matter up to now.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/gen...s-5433-t2868247

Previous samsung phone is easier to like the snapdragon more than the exynos due to support in xda and AOSP/cynogenmod. Snadragon also has better performance in he synthetic benchmark.

According to the xda post above, there is evident in the benchmark information that suggest the exynos is the 64bit cpu. Android L is fully support the 64bit in the ART. it will get full benefit from it.

the below sites has explain the benefit for the 64bit processor:
http://www.androidcentral.com/why-64-bit-p...-matter-android

If the exynos 5433 is really the 64bit processor, i kind lean on the exynos 5433 this time. it is 20nm processor and in 32bit kitkat, the synthetic benchmark already outperform the snapdragon. Beside that, exynos normally will get wolfson DAC which will yield better sound quality than snapdragon based on previous model history.

The exynos processor will surely loose cynogenmod or AOSP rom support as same with note 3 with exynos. Although, there is still custom rom for exynos.

Any other snapdragon benefit beside the better cynogenmod/aosp rom support?

while samsung never even put much effort to improve.
the samsung with curve glass at the side is another range.

note 4 is more focus on the spen improvement: double the pressure sensitivity, multi select with spen, much improve and user friendly multi-window.

the display itself is also much improve based on early hand-on report: 2k resolution, deep black, improve brightness (early hand on suggest note 4 display brighter than lg g3 display) , and accurate color which is weakness of oled display previouly:

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Finally-Gal...-colors_id60375

finally note 4 get the ois which will greatly improve the blur picture taken with shaking hand.
waiting for note 4 camera side review.

Im very interested review on how this hardware and software improvement put in actual usage including battery usage, picture taken by the main camera especially night shot.

The improvement is not enough for a replacement. I stick with my note 3

So does the 4 get waterproof capabilities like S5?
*
note 4 is not ip67 certified. so no water and dust resistance.

So far, most large screen phone >5.5" is not water resistance like lg g3, find 7, mate 7, ifon 6+ etc. except for sony ultra, t3.
maybe sony will refresh the sony ultra with better screen, cpu, camera this year.

for less 5.5", there is sony z3 is ip68 certified. my opinion, screen and cpu is not much improve vs note 3. sony z3 camera is 21mp with ois. Z3 camera has improve noise with full resolution taken as stated in gsmarena z3 compact review:
http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_z3_com...view-1135p8.php

interest to see how z3 camera against the note 4 which both feature ois.

DisplayMate also found that the Note 4’s display had above average ratings for screen reflection and for overall brightness while also delivering a significant 14% improvement to the display’s power efficiency compared with the Galaxy Note 3.
it's good hear that the 2K or QHD display actually more power efficient than note 3 which is 1080p.

note 4 will be sale on china and korea on 26th sept.
Hopefully can release here sooner also.

http://www.gsmarena.com/note_edge_wont_be_...h-news-9679.php
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_not...k-news-9676.php

the note 4 with exynos is indeed based on new arm architecture, V8, 20nm and support 64bit. but it is only run with AArch32 mode:

http://www.anandtech.com/show/8537/samsung...-a57a53-arm-soc

Previous post mentioned here, it is unlikely to have exynos version note 4 here.
I like the new armV8 soc and 20 nm which mostly will consume less battery vs the 28nm, armV7 SOC, snapdragon 805.

there is a comparison between note 4 vs iphone 6+ including display and picture quality comparison:

http://translate.google.com/translate?dept...AXY_Note_4.html

according to this site, color accuracy of the note 4 is around 6500K which is alot better than the ifon 6+ which is around 7400K (slightly bluish tint)

note 4 brightness can go as high as 620 cd/m2 in auto mode but only 370 manual mode. ifon 6+ is around 492cd/m2

Hopefully the screen can do better under the sunlight.
*
If the tested result from hitech and displaymate test is accurate, note 4 should be performed better than average under direct sunlight due to the high brightness (~600cd/m2) low screen Reflectance.

I think the photo taken from note 4 camera also appear more natural color compare with iphone 6+ pic which appear more saturated. But the note 4 photo taken with flash is slightly wash out vs iphone 6+

yess..today's super amoled display eg. tab s produces much lighter color tones compared to that of yesteryear's eg. note 2. hence, it may look wash out to users who r familiar with note 2, s4 or or even note 3.
*
My mistake. I didn't mean the amoled display is wash out.
I refer to the photo taken by note 4 camera which is published by hi-tech website. Hi-tech site got publish several pic taken from note 4 camera and iPhone 6+ camera. Note 4 pic seem very good except the one taken with flash on (slightly wash out).

I prefer the exynos 5433 also. it is a 64bit processor, 20nm soc, new armV8 SOC.
Android L is natively support in ART.
Just hope that, samsung will enable the AArch64 mode in android L.

According anandtech, exynos 5433 is running on AArch32 mode, 32bit compatible mode (due to kitkat??):
http://www.anandtech.com/show/8537/samsung...-a57a53-arm-soc

there is a poll in xda for snapdragon or exynos soc for note 4. Currently, exynos soc is slightly ahead of snapdragon

note 3 can go as high as 660 so it went down a bit

http://www.displaymate.com/Galaxy_Note3_ShootOut_1.htm
*
If we compare displaymate result between note 3 vs note 4 in auto mode, note 4 is higher ~750cd/m2.

Maybe the Hi-tech and displaymate testingg with different matter. I'm not sure.

I think brightness more than or around 600cd/m2 is good enough since most good lcd also around ~600cd/m2 like in htc one m8.

There is another detail review for note 4 from mobile-review. Here is the google translate link:

http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=e...xO0DNHZMnsDIABQ

Based on the above on above review, the note 4 and note 3 actual battery usage is about the same. If same with note3 battery life is very good already since note 4 spot a QHD display. Fast charge is working in exynos version also. Another interesting point is the night shot photo is improved vs samsung s5. The camera module is from samsung isocell instead of sony.

Cant comment much on note4's exynos but on tab s 8.4 , its hotter compared to mipad , doing only 2 things , playing COC n kaypo-ing in lyn while waiting for troops 2 cook . However , tab s is much thinner/slimmer compared 2 mipad so that might be a reason as well why it felt hotter while the heat on mipad is least obvious .
*
If I not mistaken, tab s 8.4/10.5 use exynos 5422 which is still 28nm soc. exynos 5433 and 5430 is 20nm soc.
This should help improve power consumption and less heat generation.

Hope that note 4 is not warmer than note 3. The metal frame is better heat conductor than plastic. This could result warmer to touch as gsmarena mention in galaxy alpha review:

Not guessing anymore, haha!

My answer :

A -  Butterfly 2
B -  Z3
C -  Note 4
D -  iPhone 6 Plus
*
I think the C set picture is the best among the other. If C really is the note-4, there is really good news since my note 3 night shot pic tendency to get noisy.
