if you force and pry it in, anything will fit by force. but looking close up in android authority video, the gap is barely there if u didnt pry it open. personally, since the screen is not fused to the metal side frame, the metal frame is more to a premium touch so that user can feel the premium of the metal touch on Note4. the main chassis itself should be still plastic/polycarbonate which is great, it wont bend and last just like the note3. what is the point of full metal body without gap but it bends easily?

Thankfully this gapgate issue came up, after Apple's bendgate thing, I was worried the Note 4 may suffer the same fate.

From the looks of it, it's just a decorative ring and offers no reinforcement to the phone.
In fact if it gets bent when flexed, it might be easier to replace.

note 4 more premium look than note 3 but i prefer edge really cool even though bit of gimmick
