Yup.. recently i hav a colleague who already hav 2 kids.
Yets still got fibroid. She is almost 50 now. Her fibroid is more than 10cm. Now she is pondering to remove or not. But her operation is a major one. Nèed to remove more than jus fibroid.
Very sad n depress she is.

Hi Guys,

Just went to have a gynae check up after months of heavy bleeding and cramps.
Then the gynae did a scan and urine test, she says i have fibroids build up in my uterus.
That what causing it to bleed heavily and abnormal pain/cramp.
This is also causing me not being able to conceive.
Now the doctor advise is to have a pap smear test and check the blood next monday.
Then finally is to remove the fibroids thru operation.
So sad after hearing this but glad i found out the reason.
Do any of u have this problem/experience.
Bcoz the gynae says its common among gals.
Please advise.

oh, dont fret much..
fibroids are actually quite common in most women. depends on your age also.
i had them as well, but it was removed last year, when i gave birth.
it's harder to conceive with them, but it doesnt mean you cant. once they're removed, you should be able to conceive better.
i didn't know i had them until i went to my gynae when i suspected i was pregnant. still delivered and removed it during my delivery.
since you found out early, you can have an opt to remove it then try for your baby after some time.
you can ask your gynae, they should be able to tell you more.

Hi Kelly, I hope you are fine and in good health now. smile.gif

My wife also has the same problem as you.
We went to a specialist clinic and the doc recommended a surgery to remove it.
May you share with us your experience?

1) How big is your fibroid?
2) Where is it located on your uterus?
3) If you able to go back in time, would you still opt for surgery?
4) Are you able to conceive now?
5) How old are you during your surgery and during your pregnancy after the surgery?
6) Do you have any complications during pregnancy?
7) How much in total for surgery removal
8) Where did you do your surgery?
9) Any good gynae docs to recommend to us for second opinion?

To be frank, we are quite depress now. The hope of having our own children like being thrown to the ground.

hi.sorry to revive this thread.. i wish to share this news that was published about a year ago, a new HIFU technology (non invasive approach) to remove Fibroids in Malaysia.

hopefully it helps ladies who have large fibroids but have been hesitant to undergo the surgical removal due to various reasons/complication
