hi, I just bought this phone & found out unable to updated. when i m trying to update new version VIBEUI_V2.0_1447_7.48.1_ST_A806 it will install & restart device then install until 50% will showing install fail. so any idea of this?

I just bought the A806 from Satu Gadget. It says the Build number is : VIBEUI_V2.0_1432_ST_A806

It's got Google Apps pre-installed inside. However - here's 2 big problems
1. No notifications whatsoever in the top bar (calls, whatsapp etc.). When things come in it's just audio / vibrate
2. Can't make calls to the new phone A806 - but calls out is OK and LTE is fine for surfing ...

Can anyone please tell me what I need to do ...

And the solution to this was - to get them to up-date the firmware . Known problem OOTB for the ones they are selling.

if install from recovery, will factory reset... if use custom rom or install Gapps, cant update over the air...

Anyone here purchased Lenovo A806 recently?

I just ordered one from DirectD, does the phone come pre-installed with Google Apps? Google play services, store, etc.

If not, then how to get them on the phone??

How is it any better? Processor is lower, both front & back camera are low, battery is also low.

Just got this Lenovo A806 from DirectD (ordered online) for RM489 with tempered glass & flip cover.

Price for the set is decent enough considering the specs of it. LYN members had warned to get FDD-LTE set but as I ordered online so was unable to check the set before. The set that I got was TD-LTE, but DirectD says the set is checked & it supports Maxis & Celcom 4G and all 3G networks. The set is also pre-installed with all Google apps. services, play store, maps, etc. But sadly it also came with lot of bloatware.

Few issues that I have had so far:

1) No protected background apps. Open WhatsApp, Viber or Messenger, it will closed done after a few seconds and will not show any message or call notifications. Will only show notification when active.

2) One line USSD codes. Will only show single line for USSD codes, a member mentioned a solution but that needs rooting the phone. Have never rooted the phone, I'm reluctant to do that.

3) Lots of bloatware, draining battery.

4) No way to update the system. Members above mentioned that a system update is available, my version is an older one but there is no option to update the system in the phone.

So will DirectD help me with these issues?

Short answer, no.. Rooting is the only choice you have. Even if you can get system update, you will lose all google apps after update. USSD code can be fixed, check previous page ( already forgot which page)

So should not even think about getting a system update, it wasn't even possible in current state anyway. USSD solution is mentioned & I have read it but the file mentioned isn't accessible.

Can someone post that file and kindly post a step by step method to root the phone, posting a video would be a bonus.

Also can someone tell how to keep the apps protected? Locking/putting the phone on sleep closes WhatsApp, Viber, etc, thus rendering them useless.
