QUOTE(KrisMas @ Oct 9 2014, 10:17 AM)
Any pads would do as long as it's the right size (just a tiny weeny bit larger than the backing plate) and the foam is firm enough (made for DA use). Preference would be (if you can source for and can afford them), of course, the Rupes pads because of it's shape. I have one Buff and Shine pad loaned to me by VX55, still haven't had the time to try it but it looks (and was told that) very promising. Any particular LC pads that you're referring to?
*
Thanks for the insight as always. Let's say for LHR21, what is the stock BP size? LC pads like the normal flat or CCS type, suitable for it?

Cool cool, let's say if I wanted to get only ONE bigfoot, would LHR15 be a good choice? Since i got plenty of 5.5" flat and ccs now.

Btw, some of my CCS pad also became 'curved' outward at the middle already. My flat pad still holding up pretty good.

i personally hate the rupes pads.

the LC's/Buff n shine worked much better for me.
*
Which LC pad you use? Flat, CCS, CP or other types?

Btw, you got the LHR15 or the 21 version?

Awesome haha. So I guess it's true that even with huge throw dual action motion, the machine is real breeze to handle with very minimal vibration?

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Oct 9 2014, 01:07 PM)
for flat panels yeah.
the irony is that the rupes stock pads were supposed to me more balanced, however i find the lc/bns pads to be easier/less vibrations.
*
Ah I see I see, luckily all of my pads are of LC hahaha.

QUOTE(KrisMas @ Oct 9 2014, 01:09 PM)
Since you've already got the 5.5" pads, and if you don't want to spend more on getting new pads, then the natural choice would be the LHR15. OR, you can get the LHR21 and buy an extra LHR15 backing plate so that you can still utilise the bigger throw AND use your existing pads tongue.gif

But, saying that, here's my personal feeling. I actually had the opportunity to try both the LHR21 and LHR15 before getting one. No doubt the LHR21 has larger throw, more cutting power, uses larger pad so can cover larger area faster, but I don't see it giving ME any discernible advantages as I'm just going to use it for my personal use and on my own cars (or maybe once in a blue moon on other cars). Even with a rotary, I rather like to use smaller pads and take my own sweet time to do a detail. I've no regrets deciding to go for the LHR15 and I would consider it as the better choice FOR ME.
*
Even with 15mm throw, it's still rather insane and can cover much bigger area than a normal DA. The machine size for both the LHR15 and LHR21 is the same is it?

Btw, what's the throw of the Flex 3401 VRG do you know? And one more thing I've been wondering for quite some time, what's the allen key for at the head of the buffer?

Yeah, black colored car is amazing to look at when it's superbly well done. This has always been the case before this stupid detailer ruined my pain. I applied Sonax BSD though on monhtly basis and it always seems to give it that very shiny. Attached is a picture before it got ruined =(

I drove a white colored Gen.2 before i switch to my City but i don't remember at all the hassle involved in maintaining but may because of the quality of the pain is different. It looks great after every car wash but of course, those dreadful black streaks after rains but other than that, nothing much.

That's why my impression on white cars are still great but after listening to your opinion, i think i'll get darker colors from now on =(
*
White is nice when it's cleaned up real good. Nowadays, white seems to be the main colour of choice. And guess what, mostly above 3 years old white car on the road now has minor oxidation and embedded dirt which is a pain to look at cuz most of them are of single stage paintwork (no clearcoat).

To me, white paint are actually boring and I dun really fancy them tongue.gif

Personally I agree with Krismas, if you are going to have a single Bigfoot machine, the LHR15 is more versatile as you can polish smaller and curvy areas like bumpers easily.
I have the LHR21, and I rather get the LHR15 instead.
*
I see. Thanks so much for the info. I guess LHR15 is the go to machine then if only going to buy single bigfoot. Still have the 3.5" BP for the normal DA hehe.

Master krismas year 2011 proton

Now am a bit puzzled.. want to cut further scared more problem..

He told me previously that car was being washed using 'chemical' by bangla car wash to remove heavy dirt and light scratch..

Not sure what was the chemical but i suspect 'kerosene' or 'liquor' being used..

Thanks master g88 for your comments.

Yes I admit that I'm still in learning phase using RB especially makita. But to be honest I do not have any issue working RB on hard paint (my luck maybe) except for soft paint. Done several readings at AGO and Mike also pointing out that by using rotary only unable to deliver hologram free on the paint. In his thread also pointed out to follow up with DA to remove hologram.

I was so shocked when working out OHP with white polishing pad on vios silver and vios white did created hologram. So I follow up with LC black but still hologram appeared. End up I use DG501 with black pad and hologram disappear. During this process all pads cleaned up well, IPA wipe down to remove oil polishing and check via LED torch but hologram still there.

As a matter of fact that I purely need DA for 1 step polishing so that I do not need to use RB for polishing process. And to be frank not so many review about ultramate or DAS-6 Pro. So I was thinking that spending for DA might help me a lot or is it a waste to buy DA for polishing process (not paint correction)? Thanks again master for your comment.  thumbup.gif

For one stepper, I always reach out for the DA with white pad and light cut polish. For tight spots, I use rotary with 3.5" pads.

Which DA you're using master? I want to know the level of vibration still can be tolerate or not..  sweat.gif

It's the Ultramate that I bought from Osren aka DAS6Pro which is also similar to the Griot's Garage 6" polisher. Surprisingly powerful little DA and very easy to use.
