So which one you think is better?
*
You mean between Filco and my Poker 2? Definitely Filco, feels much solid and the MX Brown much silent, which is nice, but the extra space incurred is a bit nuisance at my working place so I use Poker 2 instead.
May try to adjust my table in the near future to accommodate at least TKL, less prefer on the Fn keys; can sometimes triggered the programming function accidentally. sweat.gif

What's with the extra space above the keyboard?

Extra space for super triple SLi or Crossfire configuration? Or maybe dual-CPU? brows.gif

This model is MSI GT80 Titan.
Include the display already. 18.4 inches screen.

Btw, the mechanical keyboard is from SteelSeries and use MX Cherry. yawn.gif
*
Gaming gonna have gaming "brand" in it to attract gamers, this is all marketing stunt.
At least it uses the much enthusiast recognized MX Cheery switches which is a plus. wink.gif
Way to go Steelseries, don't destroy the MKBer dreams. tongue.gif

Wanna ask you guys, hoiw much have you spent on your mechanical keyboard journey? After purchasing the Poker II today i realize it's a pretty expensive hobby. Currently i've spent about Rm600+ just 1 month into this fanatic hobby. Haven't even included keycaps and case mods yet!  doh.gif
*
Only RM600, you're just getting started, I bought Filco TKL as my first MKB, then saw this amazing PBT keycaps, found he's from local as well (Kuching)... w00t!! Then another few hundred is gone, well that week was like.. RM800? haha... doh.gif
Not yet include recent purchase, probably top RM300 without paying the postage as yet. sweat.gif
If you ask all the hardcore sifu here, 4 digit is the starting point, and the pit is bottom-less... laugh.gif

Why dowan get o-rings instead?
*
Tried O-ring, not really reliable enough, probably due to I using the thick type which some keys either not registering or register multiple times, it's different with that padding, but there's not much review on that item, will do more research but just dreams if not much interest to GB from Elite Keyboard.

QUOTE(belfong @ Oct 31 2014, 01:39 PM)
I am interested in the case. Maybe if there is more people interested we can share shipping cost. Elite keyboard has one of the most expensive shipping charges.
*
Yeah, wonder can open interest gather thread, no specific forum on this. sweat.gif

So much choices of KB available..hard to decide rclxub.gif

Alright..Perhaps it is the cherry version that i saw..I will double check..thanks. nod.gif

After going back thru the pages further Filco brand comes out often...at what price range am i looking at if i want a backlit version? perhaps from the Filco Majestouch 2 range?

My budget is ~RM350..for now...looking for backlit version.and if the choices available are "meh"..then i might increase the budget further... notworthy.gif
*
You will never find Filco with LED backlit, they're built for and intent for typist, thus unlike other "gaming" brand, there's no fancy nor extra features (not even a single Fn key; media, etc.) so it's just a normal keyboard. sweat.gif

p/s: The Filco 60% is exception. tongue.gif

Apart from the resting fingertips problem, does the red have any more disadvantages ? Because i'm currently stuck with a membrane keyboard and hoping to change to mech kb asap  biggrin.gif

I play Dota 2 most of the time and some school work I guess but mostly gaming. Will the red do me good ?

My current kb is the CM Storm devastator and I don't really know the force requirement for the kb but I would prefer something lighter than this
*
MX Brown is already lighter than most rubber dome (Topre aside) and it's way easier to actuate even, I came from laptop scissors, and it's even harder to actuate than MX Brown, and the consistency from MX switch is way better, for Cherry anyway, didn't tried Kailh so no comment on that switch. sweat.gif

Any other brand/model recommendation for mechanical keyboard? Interested in logitech g710+ , but I am open and want to know more about other model/brand.

Thanks.
*
1. Needs macro? (If yes then no need to answer the rest, just get what on your list)
2. Full Size (104-key)? or TKL?
3. Needs LED?
4. Pure typing? Gaming?
5. Maximum budget?
6. Actuation force? (Need to use more force or not to press a key)

If you enter MKB, us here is not gaming centric, most of us is gamer though we don't (really) recommend gaming branded MKB.
Most recommended OEM is Filco. TKL, Full size available. Simple, plain, no macro, no LED, no media keys, no extra features. Just one word, keyboard.
Needs LED? Ducky Shine, extra LED features, some media keys.
Needs more features? Cooler Master Rapid-i, fancy LED features, lots of media keys, only TKL size.

Budget for Filco is pretty standard, RM369 for TKL, RM399 for Full size.
Ducky Shine starts from RM3xx to RM4xx depends on the version, edition and size.
Cooler Master Rapid-i if not mistaken is RM399? (Correct me)

Either one can use for gaming, and depends on the switches you choose, it's either:
Lightest: MX Red
Middle ground: MX Brown
Slightly heavier: MX Blue
Much heavier: MX Black
Please have a look at first page for more detail on the switches.

There're more to the list, but those are most recommended in this thread.

Need keyboard suggestions..

Things i need..

- Prefer TKL
- Cherry MX Red
- Have detachable cable and preferably on the left or right side instead of middle like filco
- LED if possible
- Media keys
- Costar stabilizer

I already have a Poker II and Filco MJ2 TKL. Wanna 'upgrade' my filco to something with detachable cable and with programmable buttons or with built in media keys. Filco's a great solid board but it feels like 2004 to me with what other boards are currently offering. Non-detachable cable, cable port built in middle which interferes with my monitor, no media key supports.. I'm considering ducky shine but i don't like cherry stabilizers at all.

Any suggestions?
*
Upgrade? hmm.gif Can only go Custom liao, can't go back already, all others are crappier than Filco.
Custom wise, most USB cable option is just like Poker II, left, middle or right side depends on the PCB and casing.

Need Custom sifus to continue with the rest of the story... blush.gif

Is there a problem playing games like dota2 with 60%s? how is ducky mini as compared to poker2?
*
That depends on your preference, 60% needs to press another key (Fn) to access the F1 to F12, and if Fn is hold, WASD will become arrow keys, Fn + Spacebar will activate Fn lock, so you won't need hold Fn key all the time.
I didn't play games on my previous 60% so I'm not sure how much does it affect gaming, it may or not affect depends on each playing style and keys usage.

Ask here? Most sifu will sure ask you to either wait for RMA (mostly 1 month+; if you're really into RMA thing) or just seek for soldering sifu to help you (void warranty).
