Anyone ErgoDox lover? Please have a look... Update: OK, may need to think twice (or thrice) getting it, since Massdrop's comments (last few) isn't good for its packaging. This post has been edited by wildwestgoh: Sep 17 2014, 07:00 AM |

QUOTE(krislee @ Sep 25 2014, 09:22 AM) Guys, what are your preferred shipping company to ship a keyboard from WM to EM, and how much would it cost? Poslaju is enough, just need to wrap it enough to dampen any rough handling.I used GDEx / City-Link shipping calculator for a 1.5 kg parcel and it looks expensive. Basically the original packaging is pretty much enough. Poslaju should cost you around RM11 to RM15 depends on service and destination. |

QUOTE(nikaizad @ Sep 25 2014, 06:59 PM) since i got my mechanical keyboard my dota plays have been much better because of the tactile feeling get when using my skills compared to my rubber dome.. Welcome to the MKB club, may I ask what MKB are you using?4.6/5 very recomended QUOTE(nikaizad @ Sep 25 2014, 07:00 PM) p/s: You can always Edit your post so you won't post twice (your post won't count in this sub-forum, be neat).Anyway back to your question, what do you meant by the feet, if you mean the lift-up feet on few MKBs then that's probably few peoples' preferences, I have mine lift-up due to my preferences. However mostly custom MKB does not has this lift-up feet, they uses custom feet, possible fix or just add-on that you need to buy separately, this is another issue altogether. My Poker 2 also does not has the extra lift-up feet so I just add little feet myself, basically just stick something to lift it up a bit for my own comfort. |

QUOTE(NeverX3 @ Sep 26 2014, 12:40 AM) I now use without the feet lifted up after few months using the feet, and I realized the switches feel stiffer when bottom out if I lifted the feet up. Stiffer? Probably the way you press down the keys is straight down instead of pushing slanting forward (angle) which explain the switches being stiff due to switches stem is rubbing the housing. Well, I could be wrong... |

Ask one of their staff for mechanical keyboard, he looks a bit blur then he straightly said "takde"Â Not many people know "mechanical keyboard", you should just look around, some salesperson is part time and don't have any knowledge of PC.Probably the only they know is CPU which they refer to the whole system itself, of which in our term is the little chip known as Processor. p/s: Just straight say where's your keyboard section? QUOTE(kennethkee93 @ Oct 8 2014, 08:04 PM) Want to ask if there's solution on sticky keys? My numpad Enter key will get stuck if I press it normally, and need to readjust it to get unstuck. Its new mech keyboard with blue cherry switch. Lube the stab should do the trick, if still happen then check if it's an issue with the keycap and stab not properly aligned, if manufacturer defect then RMA, or just ask nearby Guru to help you if the matter is not worst. |

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Oct 10 2014, 10:14 AM) Just for a change of pace, i noticed this article where the author claims mechanical keyboards just aren't his thing, and he goes on to explain why I've found that his quest is just too little to judge the mechanical keyboard, hence his article is somewhat one-sided on only 1 particular keyboard, and to add that, ABS with cheap plastic plate keyboard? http://www.bit-tech.net/blog/2014/05/22/me...-aren-t-for-me/ my spoiler commentary » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « ty for the article. found it very light weight, but at least covered some main points, as well as illustrating the different cherry mx key switches which is important for new buyers. But i would still definitely suggest people to also supplement their reading with more in depth articles to make a wiser purchase, because not all brand/models are equal; some have features or better value that may suit different people I've used both Poker 2 and Filco with MX Browns, Filco is definitely not silent but way better than Poker 2 at stock, I've put thick O-rings to dampen my Poker 2 to a really low noise when I bottom it out and with practice to actually touch type rather than hammer it right down makes the noise even much less, which is comparable to normal rubber dome keyboard. The author has yet to find himself Topre yet I guess, didn't saw him mention any Topre than those common Cherry MX brands. He also mention money is not an objection for his keyboard quest, I assume he did not venture enough to know the best of MKB. |

I won't let the general feels of a single key press determine which switches I'm going with, I bought my Filco blind due to strong suggestion from this thread, after I got the keyboard, it was totally different from what I expected.
After I got my Poker 2, I noticed the differences of: 1. Build quality (Filco vs iKBC) 2. Plate mount vs PCB mount 3. Keycaps material and thickness 4. With and without O-ring I think for those MKB sifu, there's plenty more of why they choose one over another, but I'll leave it for others to add to the list. |

QUOTE(belfong @ Oct 28 2014, 02:18 PM) which is why general consensus is that Topre is king. If you have bought a Topre, it would have saved you so much headache and money and time effort (from having to buy/sell all the Mx boards) But I'll check out local market to see if they have demo unit for me to try on... But... again doubt they will do so due to scarce demand... |
