My situation.
I worked in this company officially since 1st December 2004, before this date, I was a part timer for the same company.
I tendered my resignation on 2nd August 2006, and as per my appointment letter, I have to give 3 months notice. So my last day shoud be 2nd November 2006.
I am entitled to 12 days annual leave this year(actually more, but 12 days is easier to calculate and explain in the forums....) and I have taken none. So since my last FULL month for the company is October, I should have 10 days leave after purata.
I asked for an early release, the company agrees and my last day is 30th September 2006.
If I accept this early release, ALL my leaves will be forfeited. That means my 10 days leave entitlement is gone.
My questions:
1. The 10 days leave entitlement that forfeits if I accept the early release, is it the same in other companies?
2. Even if I do leave the company on 30th September 2006, the company should pay me back my 10 days PAID leave right, because it's my entitlement?
3. The company also said that my leave is only 7 days because i tendered my resignation on August, means January to July, 1 each for every month. They told me after i tendered my resignation, the remaining months, i.e. August and September, I do not have leave entitlements. Is this true?
My initial plan was, I request for early release, i.e. leave the company on 30th September 2006, and take all my leave and leave before 30th September 2006. But with this problem, i cant do that.
If i dont take the early release, my last day would be 2nd November 2006 and I still have all my leaves (ONLY those that i have accumulated from January - July, See question No. 3). But i have to report to my new job on 1st October.
You get the 10 days salary also la dear. lol. So calculate ur income properly and dont let them cheat on you saying.. Oh.. you can leave earlier .. Not good meh in expenses of your leave. So in real life u work till Oct 10 if u leave on 30th September. Good luck and all the best in ur new work.. Economy kinda sucks nowdaysI worked in this company officially since 1st December 2004, before this date, I was a part timer for the same company.
