The defence lacks cover from the midfield. Cleverley and Fletch drift forward too much. Still not convinced with the 352 formation, oh well. LVG is the boss.
*
formation can work, but it depends on the team and the opponent too.

at this time the team is not playing with full confidence, slower passing and niggly play won't help. fletcher and cleverley in CM too.. nottttt confidence inspiring.

face it. 352 is not for EPL. I dun see much team being successful with 352 tbh. sweat.gif

Just like Swansea match. Utd played much better after halftime when revert back to 442. hmm.gif

Need to be flexible. When teams setup to counter it then gotta be ready to change formation as needed. LVG also had to change things a bit at times during the WC, he wasn't using that formation only.

The team is got damn tofu. Totally no physical player. So easily pushed off the ball and not penetration.

Only Jones got the omphh
*
hopefully rojo can give us some toughness. herrera cannot come back soon enough!

hopefully the de jong rumors are more than hot air.

dwight yorke makes a good point about our tempo and passing needing improvement. quick crisp passing is needed!

Yeah. Just kasi Milan 10m and sign him over to steady the ship. Kung fu some players who bulldoze our Mata.
*
lol! at least he would give a shield to our backline. fletcher did well on US tour but he's been scarily under-par since.

What we won't give to have both of Sunderland CB still playing for us.

imo midfield is the part that is killing the entire team. exposing defenders and not feeding the attacks.

defenders might have flaws, but a stronger midfield would help cover it a bit.

our back 3 blackett has been the most active looking one. rojo to LWB so Young gets benched?

At this point wonder if James would do better than Young, regardless of his inexperience.

To those who are still asking why LVG boycott Kagawa,
SOS

If all 3 managers (SAF,DM, LVG) doesn't start Kagawa frequently, surely there is something wrong with him. To me, Kagawa is overrated and lazy. Nuff said. I am still in awe that there is no buyer for him yet.
*
Wah habis la... anytime a player rebels vs the manager tactics like that, confirm no future unless he begs forgiveness. He was amazing at BVB, but for whatever reason 3 managers have refused to give him an extended run in the #10 role he played over there. He can't (or won't) do well in other positions. Looks like time to sell is nearing.

QUOTE(limjenson @ Aug 25 2014, 03:53 PM)
Don't talk about vidal....Talk about Strootman. Roma signed him last season for 12-13m only. Wafak! Especially when we needed a CM.

Agreed!!!

i still trust the system. no system is perfect. but good system always need a suitable set of players.

di maria will not improve us tremendously. he's an upgrade, but at the expanse of the likes of kagawa and januzaj.

biggest holes are obviously on cm and cb, while both side fullbacks occupied by make-shift players (valencia and young)

wordward spent on wrong 'furniture'. di maria are great buy, only if another class cm also on board.
*
Well given that Kagawa has failed to nail a starting spot, and Januzaj has been hot and cold (young player, cannot expect super consistency)... it's definitely an upgrade.

Only issue is the CM position is the one SCREAMING for upgrades.

Seems a lot of people are panicking about the formation not working.

Take it easy wei.. With a CM of Cleverley and Fletcher in this kinda form, ANY formation also will have issues. 4-4-2 you will puke blood. More to the point 4-4-2 then see Young and Valencia as wingers still puke. And since Shaw is injured and Rojo can't play, Rafael also hasn't been back yet for minutes.. gonna open alternative problems (including how to fit Mata + Rooney + RVP at the same time)

Trust LVG to figure it out, he said time and patience is needed smile.gif

I wont be surprise if united direct decided not to do international shipping anymore if cases like this happen all the time
*
All it does is raise costs for all buyers eventually. Either the jersey itself, or shipping pricing/class that is used.

When rooney was set free on the counter yesterday, he couldnt beat even one man and lost the ball. The commentator then mentioned about the difference between lvg holland and lvg united is robben. We saw how devastating he can be in the world cup on the counter attack. Perhaps di maria can be that player, theres none in our team who can do that at the moment.
*
Yep. Fingers crossed it happens.
