QUOTE(qwertyuioped @ Aug 23 2014, 08:17 PM) Guys need some advice here. already posted in EE but macam no reply. So just trying here. I already graduated with diploma in mechanical engineering from TARC. During my study i decided mechanical engineering is not for me eventhough i graduated with quite a decent pointer. I am keen on doing programming and I was thinking to maybe get a degree in software engineering or something related. My question is, is it possible for me to use my diploma in mechanical engineering to get into software engineering course? I'm willing to start from year one. I just don't want to waste my time retaking another diploma or foundation for that matter because im almost 21 already. Anybody have experience in this kind of situation? it is absolutely possible. wish u all the best

QUOTE(qwertyuioped @ Aug 23 2014, 12:30 PM) I feel you bro. Why dont try UTAR instead? I also thinking to apply to UTAR. wow. First time hearing that. So it is definitely possible pursuing different unrelated fields i guess. It is very possible to switch during postgrad level, but for undergrads, it's a little different bcoz people wanna transfer credits to shorten the study duration. I did architecture for undergrad (dip n degree), then went into computer science for masters, and later education for phd. Yeah, VERY VERY possible. It just tend to take longer, bcoz u need to learn new stuffs. Thats all.

Professional courses certified by the government is actually more powerful than any Degree certs out there.
Degree is like SPM. Any tom, d*** and bulus can get.
Master's Degree is different standard at least.
