Guys need some advice here. already posted in EE but macam no reply. So just trying here.
I already graduated with diploma in mechanical engineering from TARC. During my study i decided mechanical engineering is not for me eventhough i graduated with quite a decent pointer. I am keen on doing programming and I was thinking to maybe get a degree in software engineering or something related. My question is, is it possible for me to use my diploma in mechanical engineering to get into software engineering course? I'm willing to start from year one. I just don't want to waste my time retaking another diploma or foundation for that matter because im almost 21 already. Anybody have experience in this kind of situation?

I think it is quite possible.
Btw are you really from TARC? Your level of english seems much better than what I have come to expect from tarc graduates

Yes, u can. But very likely there wont be much of a credit transfer, meaning u must be prepared to start everything from scratch (read: 1st year).

I just dont want to start again from foundation. Thx for the input.

I think it will be cheaper if i go for degree straight instead of taking another diploma then proceed with degree.

Pretty sure its possible if you're changing to a different uni. I was thinking of changing my course to a diff one in TARC as well, but apparently TARC doesn't allow in doing so And to top it off, if I do decide to continue my course in TARC, its not even offered for the OCT intake Gotta wait until next year May.

Can. Just u cannot do much credit transfer. If u diploma and degree same field, u can do a lot of credit transfer and u basically will be skipping 1st year of ur degree.
In ur case, I think programming, fundamental mathematics. These 2 subject maybe can get credit transfer. But it also depend on the university, to see if they approves ur diploma college's syllabus.

I feel you bro. Why dont try UTAR instead? I also thinking to apply to UTAR. QUOTE(party @ Aug 23 2014, 09:27 PM) Yes u can. Duwna go Kampar And funny thing, even though being from the same administration, they can't confirm exemption for certain papers but only after I enroll in their program.
