Why dont we try doing a league style format, Win = 3 points ; lose = 0 and have it run for 2 to 3 months.

Have the time scheduled on predetermined dates with only 1 chance to reschedule. If you miss the rescheduled fight then you get 0 points. (a loss)

Of course you'll be allowed to have standins so that its fair due to any unforeseen circumstances.

The MMR distribution of the last tourney was fine just that some had real life stuff to deal with.

Unfortunately, I believe it will take 2-3 months to do few matches only.. haha

As for stand-ins, unless, they can be used by all teams, (no team specific stand-ins) then I think it's okay.

I proposed this format before the last tournament, but in the end we opted against it for fear over the tourney taking too long to conclude.

The option for stand-ins is nonexistent due to the mix-and match MMR format. Even in the final, we had a hard time finding a stand-in who was in the correct MMR range so that the games wouldn't be imbalanced.

I'd like to clarify some things:
1. The tournament will be run by just me (and maybe some volunteer mods). It's not in any way associated with this guild, and there will be no player restrictions.
2. I've not decided on the tournament format yet, but I'm looking at some variation of 1v1 play. I'll give the full details when I'm ready to make an announcement.
3. The tournament will involve a cash prize. How large it is has yet to be decided, but given that I'm handling things all on my own, don't expect it to be too much.
4. I might not make the December deadline, there are too many things going on at the moment. One thing for sure though - I intend to make it a yearly affair.

December too many ppl go holiday and clear leave... So organizing a tournament within these 2 months definitely wont get any commitment from our guildmates.. Furthermore, all unker-unker with family and life
