P.S. If everyone in the team has a smartphone, I suggest a WhatsApp group to make things easier. Over the years I have seen instances where players go "missing" at the last minute, forcing their teams to forfeit.

After discussion among the admins, we decided that Bo3 would take too much time, given that we intend to maintain flexibility to cater for a working crowd. Same reason we scrapped doing a round-robin format.

Consider this a dry-run of sorts, if it goes well, we'll buck up and present a more serious format next time round.

To the players who went missing today:

We gave you ample time to schedule a game so there wouldn't be any availability issues. Going AWOL without notice is very irresponsible. Please keep in contact with your team captains by phone, and don't just rely on PMs.

Given the player shuffle format of this tournament, it's not possible. We'll be lenient as this is the first iteration, but in future versions of this tournament, FFK-ers will be banned from ever competing again.

I'm thinking of implementing a league-style rule - each team is allowed ONE reschedule throughout each stage of the tournament.

It's not really paksa-rela. The shuffling decision was made because players in this guild have too wide of an MMR spread. If we allowed people to choose their own teammates, I guarantee you I can predict which team will confirm win from the brackets alone.

As for your late registers idea, yes, I think it's good. But we still need some metric to be able to sort players, and thus we'll still only be playing with players who have obtained their solo rating.

There's a reason we can't form our own teams - the skill gap between our guild members is too large. We have MMRs that range from 2k to 5k. What's to stop the top 5 players from forming a team and steamrolling the opposition? Where's the fun in that?

Offlane Veno should not get ganked unless the enemy uses smoke or you're within range of the enemy's disables. Level 1 Poison Ward = win.

I rather feed him the 17 gold than lose levels by getting caught out. Also, the idea is not to spam them, rather just provide vision from across the treeline.

It'll be interesting to see how the picks evolve. Then again, it's CD, so there's a bit of luck as to which heroes make it into the pool. If either LC or TB are present, it should make for quite an interesting game.
