You mean idle as in not using it?

I read title and i thought he meant left the car running idle for a week.... ...LOL. TS meant not used, obviously. No problem lar one week, two weeks also ok. Not a month or more.

If there's no equipment consuming the battery, should last long.
Alarm is one. But some ICE installer just perma fix your amp/head unit with direct power. So batter just die faster - less than a week.

Normally 2 weeks also no issue. But not more than a month. Can damage the battery.

oh ok thanks all for response… so at most the only thing that will spoil is the battery? Not the engine or anything? Cost at most of the time I will only drive my car during weekend and I wont touch it during weekday.
I was actually afraid that the engine pipe will solidify and will block or something just like the human heart where if you dont excercise frequently tgt with frequent consumption of fatty stuff will make the arteries block and die eventually.
Thanks guys for the reply. Tried to search online verywhere for what i needed to know but to no avail.

Nothing wrong with it. The more worrying things is maybe snake or cat sleeping in your engine or some special hidden corner, might turn to minced meat when starting engine... or shock you.

Tried to search online verywhere for what i needed to know but to no avail. if you leave it for like long durations, 6 months and above without even bringing your car to service... that, on the other hand might not be the best for seals on the motor... else, it's mostly a case of maintaining battery levels.. as long as you drive it enough during the weekends... it shouldn't be a problem...

Although you might find your exhaust pipe bocor due to the sulphur deposits absorbing moisture.

ooo thats alot of valuable input from the experts here...conclusion is that a car can be left untouched for 2 weeks maximum and the highest risk of damage is direct towards your battery...

Well , experience told me that "must" run the car within 2-3 days interval even-though you not really used it , to let the battery and those engine oil keep running smooth . I got a honda stream 05 last time kena engine kong because of the engine lubricant viscosity fail and my wife didnt notice out , the main reason is we rarely use the car and let it standby mode week by week This post has been edited by Actchan: Aug 22 2014, 12:30 AM

So even if you don't drive... u still suppose to follow the time based maintenance, especially true for rarely driver car. Instead of 3 months, you can probably do like 6 months for every oil change if you rarely use.
