there is a low cost version of redmi note but it's still octa core (1.4GHz with 1gb ram), didnt heard about quad core 2gb before...

please try to get original malaysia unit which comes with 1.7GHz and 2gb ram.

3. and 4. 1Gb memory, <5" screen, front camera wanted, front/rear cam resolution not important, dual simm (1 2g is ok), sdhc expansion slot, sensor compass, size like redmi 1 or smaller (<138mm x 70mm), kitkat rom or planned update in future.

I need a recommendation for something other than the redmi 1s (already have it and might pass it on to family or sell it). Already considered the zenfone 4-4.5" but have reservations over battery life and screen resolution (might be too poor for reading since only 218-233ppi). Xperia M looked ok but cannot run apps on sdhc card and no kitkat update.

since you mention camera res not important.... moto g is a good buy but too bad no sd ard, moto g lte got sd card but no dual sim..... both promise upgrade to android L...

The new moto g (2014) is slightly too big and heavy for me. I have to pay up for a Galaxy S3 or S4 mini for my needs.

Good day to all lyn sifus. I'm not too sure if here is the right place to ask. Recommendation between oppo find7 and the LG G3. Anyone here using these 2 models? Any good or bad? Thanks for the input in advance.

wow. Sudd buy Redmi Note pula. I thot u got budget 1.2k? 

save up for the remainder budget? 

1) XiaoMi only .
2) RM600 or less .
3) Doesnt lag much even using for a long time .
4) 4.7" to 5.5" .
5) normal tasks + little light gaming .
6) buying for my dad .

I have had good experience with nexus 4 coz stable OS and doesnt lag much even using for 1year plus with many things installed. Heard and know that XiaoMi phones are best bang for the buck , just dunno how their OS goes after long time usage .

now considering RedMi 1S , RedMi Note , XiaoMi3 (used) .
