Heard that before, but not really buying that words. Logic is rather simple. If less is more, those popular brand will just copy similar design rather than came up with complicated design to solve so much problems, which also add up cost.
Yes. It is more for DAC, then 2nd for headphone amp.
The reason is I found my PM6005 is a bit lacking power for KEF Q700. And I might upgrade to bigger speaker as well. And better amp is just an amp... which need another DAC.
For now, I am thinking of UD301 + PM8005? UD301 + poweramp? or UD301 + Krell 300i?
Complication is the key word here. It's harder to make a streamlined extremely clean build without the extra necessities. For example, the inside of a Schiit amp and that of a DIY amp. Most boutique custom amps inside is extremely messy and DIY like. Schiit is clean as hell. That's why I respect schiit. Good value for money with fantastic build quality.Yes. And they do. High end brands like goldmund use to rip entire sony boards out and call it theirs, and charge 10X more. A LOT of high end brands have similar board and internal designs.
This is the internals of a 110K Vivaldi DAC. Simple, clean, non fussy.
