It is around 2-4k depending on color, quoted by Glamour.
I found it very expensive for a rubber paint.
Very convenient and fast, this one i agreed.
Anyone did it ?
Is it worth to do ?

4k can do normal paint job twice.
spray watever color u like (2K), use it for few months, if dont like, change another color or back to original colour (2k). i dont see why plasti dip works? its not durable, its not cost effective. maybe only fun..hmm |

In fact plastic dip more durable with lifespan of 2-3 years without issues. If got scratch , just touch up with the plastic dip.
I had dip my rims and from bumper....one of the best product... if got peel, just take it cleanly and respray... So far still look nice....excellent for chipping resistance part. |

Rims very troublesome rite? Everytime you changed tyres, you need to respray again as the edges are all gone.
I spray using DIY can bought from ACE hardware. Effect not bad. Its mattted. If you wan shiny can buy another spray to make them shiny. |

Plastidip might stain your car depending on your car colour. White for example is a no-no for plastidip.
Fast yes, compared to a full respray, a full car plastidip can be done in 1-2 days, compred to 1-2 weeks for a proper respray job. Plastidip is great for small interior parts, or spoilers and grilles. not so much full respray. |

I check wrap with Unicorn and another one shop in Sri Kembangan.
Wrapping even more expensive, 3-8k. Crazy I would said. My is new car 6 months old accord 2.4 I bought Champagne Frost Pearl color, very easy to maintain but not so cool looking, though about another color, then Plasti dip and wrap came in mind. But the cost is so high. |

from what i gathered, plasti dip should be a cheaper alternative to proper paint and for people to get creative through DIY
as we are not in the US, the supply is quite limited = expensive. per can USD7 here > RM50 also getting proper tools to DIY dip a whole car would be difficult having said that, DIY plasti dipping small parts of the car as a hobby is fine anything beyond that, not worthy yet. |

Make it interesting??? Why want to mess with the factory paint job?
You can always spruce it up with bigger 18 or 19inch wheels, lower it, give it a bodykit depending on your preference (VIP style, sporty look, etc...), heck... even hella flush if tat tickles your fancy...many many other ways...jus look towards google to give you ideas... Paying 4k for a paintjob that feels like the ground of a tennis court ain't worth it...for me at least... Or u can make it look like a camouflaged test car on the road...i bt no one's done that before ![]() This post has been edited by nm7: Aug 15 2014, 01:46 AM |

Previously I was thinking to put sticker for my power window controller and the centre console since it has scracthes on it, after enquire on few sticker shops, the cost is high.
The this plastic dip come into my mind. But I have few worries before starting to DIY myself... 1. Do I need to remove the whole door panel and dismantle the power window controller to dip it? 2. Since there are switches on the controller, I assume I need to cover those gaps to prevent the paint get inside of it?(might cause the controller wiring gone) Or just spray on it without any cover up? 3. After dipping my interior, will the paint leave some kind of smell inside my interior permenantly? Any idea whether I can get these tools for DIY in Malaysia? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « 1st pic is Dip Nozzle and the 2nd is CanGun1. Beside Plastic Dip, there are few others brands that have similar product such as Aikka. Anyone have tried this brand? Hows the outcome compare to Plastic Dip? hi guys,
not sure how & where to start but if you can diy spray plastidip on your own, its really affordable + not dat hard to do. example : for vw scirocco, mini, myvi, kelisa and similar sized car only cost you rm650 for sprayable plastidip + you need a spraygun. of course using either plastidip or car wrap got it's own pro and cons. there are few china brand rubber paint in the market but i guess you cant compare the quality and assume they are the same with plastidip. in my opinion, i think plasti dip only for small objects, like motorbike's part, car interior plastic surface and etc.
if whole car go for plasti dip, hmmmmm, i would say no. |

I did the interior of my car myself ie put stickers on all the wood look trims. Once you do a few it is easy to do the rest. In fact this morning I did the side sill of another of my car. You have to use a very sharp blade and have enough balls to cut the sticker and not leave scratches on the car. Unless you take the part off and wrap. I only paid for the stickers and took me 3 hours for my first car. The sill this morning took me 25 mins including removing the sill from the car. |
