Hi guys, I know that there is an existing thread to discuss and showcase your Macs'.... But it's dominated by present time Macs' to which, these Macs' of yesteryear have no match, instead they merely get embarrassed by the performance and power of the current Macs'.

However, I am sure that many of you guys still have your Power PC and pre OS X Macs' due to sentiments,  e.g  an eMac, iMac G3, iMac G4, iMac G5, Power Mac, Mac Mini, Apple Cube and those really vintage Macintoshes.

Well...now is the time to show it off and flaunt it... Post your older Macs' (Pre-intels) here. Tell us your tale about it!

Here is one of my Power PC Macs', an eMac 1.25ghz, running Leopard 10.5.8, it does not serve any purpose rather than the joy that i still have it running !

...another aged Mac of mine, It's an Apple 17" crt monitor. I believe it was produced some where in 1999.

ha ha,, i believe that it pre-dates the Cube era. The period when the Cube was released in Y2k, Apples LCD Studio display was already present. Further, there is another CRT monitor which was released in between this CRT and the LCD studio display. That was the cool looking CRT, which had the see-through back, that looked exceptionally outstanding

This CRT monitor was more of a release with the PowerMac G3. Bloody HEAVY!

even today used alu cinema display 20" oso above rm500 which is crazy can buy two used 22" 

The see throug crt... I am not sure of its max resulotion. But about the PowerMac g3 ... It was considered as a major leap....as it was the breaking point for apple from its beige cpu towers!  The B&W powerMac g3 was so cool looking, a complete overhaul .... Performance too was upgraded. I have the original advert which Apple did for the g3 ...will post it !

Macintosh SE/30 owner here... still works! Looking for keyboard and mouse. Both lost during house moving some years ago.

Should be 68030 I think. Mine still wrapped up in the box. Will power up this weekend to clean it. I still need the mouse and keyboard though. OS is System 6.

PPC 2ghz x 2 isn't too shabby back then especially with OS9

Ahaa the Pro Keyboard.... I hv a few of those...all serving for e respective Macs....  If i can find one that looks at new n flashy as the pic... Damn that would be awesome.. but its almost impossible to get one like that....

I do also have the other model ...the Apple Usb keyboard....that is pretty dude... The rear part of the k/b looks much better than the front part 

True...its super convenient...no screws to unscrew..
It was paired with the PowerMac G4s' and the Cube
It powers up...slowly...when almost completely lit..it flickers and dies of.. reached its cycle..

The one with the double G5 logo is a Dual Processor Model...like this one below

The one with the Single G5 logo is the last version of G5, which is a Dual Core...like this one below

To sum it up, the model which you think is a SP is actually the Dual core model, the latest version of the Power Mac G5, before the Mac Pro replaced it.  ...i have one of those Dual Core model, a late 2005 model.

hackintoshers probably dunno this but OS9 was a speed demon.
during its day its competitors were like Win98/Win2k even WinXP.
it just blew them all away with fast boot times and access times.
i remember seeing somewhere someone modded his old mac laptop running OS9 with CF replacing the HDD the battery life swelled to 9hours with boot and programs loading as quickly as an ipad, except for stuff like PS of coz 

OSX was pretty heavy until Lion came out then it started to be zippy again.

Nah....i mean my keyboard....the 1 i posted. Back then it was feasible to produce such products in Malaysia...not anymore.

Yeah the hockey puck had its issues.... But that had Pushed Apple to produce a better and cool looking mouse .... The Glass Mouse....looks awesome!

I hv plans, but right now ....time is reAlly scarse ....so i'm keeping my options open.....

haha...this is a slot load 500mhz...its faulty. Right now there is no HDD. HDD does not bother me, what bothers me is that, there is no chime or even the grey apple logo, which points towards something serious...as in the logic board or so...anyways i will treat this Mac as a platform to dissect and learn about Imac G3's.

I have another G3 600Mhz, which boots without issues...so this would be the Mangsa ! anyways...for now it is in vacation !

I believe it e logicboard....because the screen is alive when switched on....just that there is no other form of sign wic gives hope that the logicboard is alive

Yeah....uve got a point there....  True, i can try to use the psu from the other g3, but just worried that something else would go wrong in the process of tring to use the psu from the g3 which is working. As the saying goes....if it aint broken, dnt try to fix it !

Perhaps i shoukd try to find out...what other psu are compatible with a g3.

True i have an imac g4 wic is semi faulty, but i also hv a g4 quicksilver which has has a psu wic is fine.... Dnt knoe if its too much for the g3.
