This Newcastle front 3 is so much different from how they played previous season.

So much more pace, less long ball > striker > goal type.

Gibbs potentially out for 3 weeks minimum with hamstring/achilles injury. 2nd time in a row Gibbs has injured himself on the first game of the season and has not stayed fit for an entire season since taking over from Clichy in 2011.

More rumours, Manolas has passed his medical and could be announced as early as tomorrow and PSG has accepted our bid believed to be in the region of 5.6m for Rabiot. Also noises coming out saying Khedira might be back on.

I hope Manolas is true because we need defensive reinforcements pronto with Gibbs out and Monreal certain to stick to LB now.

can we still fit in so many non homegrown players?

Currently we have 16 non homegrown spots taken up, one extra spot because Vermaelen left. Manolas will be a direct replacement for that spot. And if we choose to bring in Khedira, Vargas or Rabiot or whoever I believe Coquelin will be sacrificed.
